  1. Yeah, it's a lock that he's going to OPS 200+ if he gets to beat up on us. Glad I stocked up on his rookie cards.
  2. I can't tell if it's lack of command or if he's nibbling. The slider does appear to be a decent pitch. If he can back-foot that thing to RH batters, he might have something.
  3. Yep, he's doing a bang up job of being Miggy. But if you're going by OPS+, not even Miggy finished a year over 200. Of course there's a lot of baseball to be played, but Vlad is over 200 right now. For the record, Trout hasn't finished over 200 for a year either. Whether Vlad Jr can or not remains to be seen but there's certainly a chance that he could. They've moved him off 3rd but he also put in a tremendous amount of work to lose weight this offseason. I'm not sure if Miguel Cabrera was ever interested in that. If he can be an average first baseman defensively, that'll be good for the Jays. But it ultimately really doesn't matter, the bat appears to be that special.
  4. The big inning certainly wasn't all his fault. But don't be mislead, he was getting hit and he was getting hit hard. He rebounded nicely and had a good stretch before giving up a couple more bullets in the 6th before being pulled. His stuff is average, there's no two ways about it. That said, I'd prefer to see someone like him instead of Harvey so I hope they keep giving him chances in the rotation.
  5. I know, that's kind of my fear. If we're this bad, we should be picking #1 or #2. I don't want to be 4 or 5. The only way I'd be happy with 4th or 5th is if it meant that AR and some other prospects are up later this summer and are contributing and the team is looking better. If we're 4th or 5th with the current cast that we have, that's terrible. Yes, I remember the 4-32 sleepwalk, it was bad. I think the Diamondbacks are something like 2-27 over their last stretch. That's not a 36 game stretch but they're going to give that 4-32 a run for the money.
  6. Yep, I gloated. Two reasons: 1: He's in the division and he'll be terrorizing us for years. I don't want that, I'm pretty sure you don't want that either. 2. I love seeing people who are lofty in their predictions, especially industry insiders, turn out to be wrong. Everyone in the industry was practically ready to give him the ROY trophy before his rookie year. You will also recall, Froberto Duran, that I also said it would be too early to write him off.
  7. Think about how terrible we are. And then think that there’s another team out there more pathetic than us. Imagine having to watch Arizona each night. I don’t think we are gonna get the #1 pick next year.
  8. If only RMC could walk a little more. He'd probably be a really good offensive piece for us.
  9. Oh, you'll rage pretty hard when you see it.
  10. I'm not fine with it, but the "holding accountable" thing makes me think of JTrea. He used to prattle on about holding the front office accountable. If anyone wants to hold them accountable, just stop being a fan. That's the only thing you can do. Stop going to games, stop watching games, stop buying merch.
  11. That was one of the most terrible plays I've ever seen. But let's not lose track of the fact that Akin is getting rocked. His stuff just isn't very good.
  12. Hey Froberto Clemente, watch the game tonite? Wanna update your most ridiculous play rankings?
  13. Looking like a typical Akin unraveling inning here. Lotta pitches, none out, runners on.
  14. Yeah, I was going to say that but I figured I'd let him flail around a little more.
