  1. I can’t believe this story blew up on National Lighthouse Day.
  2. You have to admire the passion. Giving everything you got.
  3. My favorite Buck moment was when Machado got hit by a pitch. Things got very chippy and the dug outs cleared. This was post bat toss. Machado was still young but had developed a bad reputation around the league. Machado went to first and Buck stood in front of him with his arms crossed like a father protecting his son. That image of them at first base is very vivid though I can’t recall the other team. Red Sox maybe?
  4. If I could read, I would have 9 out of 9. I put my HOF/SS guy in the SS/.300 square by mistake. Still had a rarity score of 142. That score can change quite a bit throughout the day as more people play. My SS row combined for 7.8%
  5. Flaherty pitched on a high school staff with Max Fried and Lucas Giolito. That’s insane to me.
  6. I missed one so got a 205 score. But my Pit/KC answer was 0.01%.
  7. I saw that World Series champion Trey Mancini is getting DFA’d after the Candelario trade.
  8. Today was a great combination of teams I don’t really think about. I got a good low one for Tigers 200k, but that was about it. My first two guesses put me over 100.
  9. Nope to Kremer, just like nope to Juan Bell.
  10. Do we still have the taken out of context thread? I got my personal best of 66 today. The Cubs/Twins was the most difficult for me.
  11. I misread one of today’s squares that was MVP and ROY. I thought it meant same year, which I’m not sure has happened. I guessed the guy who led the league in homers and later testified to Congress during the steroid hearings, but he didn’t win MVP. There are obvious answers for guys who won ROY and MVP later.
  12. I had my best score of 55. Our bottom row was almost the same, but I took the Blue Jays teammate from that team which was 3%. I used two HOFers. My All Star column added up to 3.5%.
  13. There’s a guy who has 500+ homers that played for both teams.
  14. Cracked 100 for the second time. I try to go fast so sometimes I have more popular answers. I had the most popular answer for Det/CWS. The Cubs/Angels one got me stuck. Took a long time to answer that one.
  15. Who did you have for Braves/Blue Jays; Reds .300; and Reds/Pirates? Those were three squares where I could have shaved some points.
  16. Wednesday and Thursday’s games were difficult for me. Today was the first time I got a sub-100 rarity score.
  17. That’s simply amazing. We did have one same answer.
  18. Fun fact, James Wood was clocked from home to first during the futures game at a faster speed than De La Cruz. He’s a 6’7 CF.
  19. Who were your selections today? That’s crazy good.
  20. Usually, I pick Mark Reynolds and ask myself if he played on both teams, and often it works.
  21. Such a smart play. Third baseman shifted way over, doesn’t draw a throw. You see him glance over the third baseman doesn’t move so he he can take a big walking lead and then strike when the pitcher isn’t ready.
  22. Today was the first day I got a score under 200 with a 191. I got all nine squares and only had the high pick on two of them.
  23. I did Thome and he was the most. I would have guessed the most would have been Belle or Murray. Derrick Lee was only 2%.
