  2. Random question. How long does one have to be on a MLB roster to lose their prospect status?
  3. Yes. And I’d bet he passes Jeter’s rWAR rather easily even though he’s pretty neutral to negative value defensively. If I was the Yankees, I’d discuss with him moving to 1B.
  4. I guess I could caveat that with “guys who didn’t play a decade past their age 39 season.” But as far as rWAR, Wilhelm had 6 sub 2 seasons. Stanton has 4 with 4 more seasons to go and only 1 season with more than 2 WAR in the past 5.
  5. He kind of reminds me of Andruw Jones. Puts up great numbers at a very early age and then declines sooner than most stars. Jones has about 20 more WAR than Stanton, so I don’t think he’ll catch him there. But getting to 500 is realistic. He’s averaged 30 per year the previous three seasons. He has three more guaranteed seasons after this. He’s 88 away and already has 10 this season. He needs to hit that round number to have any shot at the HOF. If he does get elected, I’d imagine he’d go in with the most sub 2 WAR seasons.
  6. I used all orioles too and got 32. Tejada, Frank Robinson, Ripken Wigginton, Thome, Palmeiro Belanger, Reggie Jackson, Machado.
  7. What about a Hunter Harvey reunion? He has team control through 2025.
  8. That’s exactly what I was thinking about. I see these videos of people claiming to have $1200-$1500 car notes. Dropping $100 on beer at a ballgame probably doesn’t make a lot of people hesitate.
  9. They are 24+ ounces. Still a rip off, but I guess they justify it as “well these suckers will pay $15 for a 16oz Bud Light, let’s try charging more for a larger, better beer.” I don’t know if it significantly impacts people with more modest incomes. Credit is still plentiful and people aren’t afraid to finance non necessities.
  10. Sending him down gives the team control of age 26 season, no?
  11. This is what makes baseball so great. What an incredible performance.
  12. I saw an old interview with Tyler Glasnow who made a comment about the crackdown on sticky stuff. He said he was against the Spider Tac, but using nothing (sunscreen plus rosin) was making him change his grip causing his arm to hurt in ways it never did.
  13. Working in DC, I go to a bunch of Nats games. Metro drops you off. Not sure what your budget is, but I typically buy a ticket in the nosebleeds and watch from their standing room only spots. They have them in left through center field and along the first and third base lines.
  14. I used a former Oriole for 3B MVP at 0.9. He was known as a SS and won his MVP for another team. Overall score of 12, six former Orioles.

  16. 12 today. All Orioles. Didn’t need to use horses*** town guy.
  17. 23. Should have been more selective with my A’s 40 WAR. That got me 12.
  18. Andy Van Slyke Chris Sabo Eric Davis
  19. The other Jays/O’s guy is neck a neck with the one you selected (my selection too).
  20. Got 68 today. Initially wasn’t trying to do ex Os, but had a bunch. Though I got Saltalamachia and Teagarden confused for TX catcher. Why didn’t the Orioles keep Kevin Brown for more than one year? He had his best years after he left. Could have put us over the top in 96 and 97.
  21. Pretty easy one today. Got 25. Used all Orioles for the right field row and used one for the Mil/Phi box.
  22. This is an MLB problem. How do you not make sure this isn’t televised?
  23. I’d like to know what, if any, offers he turned down earlier in the process.
