  1. Right, O'Hearn has always hit the ball hard. The shift definitely hurt him. His HH % is the lowest of his career this year, but his exit velo and Barrel % are both pretty good in 2024.
  2. I'm pretty sure they mean they recently saw an interview of someone who Tony Gwynn helped.
  3. It's pretty damn confusing to be fair.
  4. Oh yeah, I thought he had more years, feels like he's been pitching for the O's for 10 years. If he had 5 years of service time he could refuse. I'd put the odds at about 0% that he isn't claimed, though.
  5. He can refuse the assignment and opt to be a free agent.
  6. They would still need to trade for him or wait for him to be placed on waivers and hope he reaches them.
  7. It appears its 7 days not 10. From the MLB Site - When a player's contract is designated for assignment -- often abbreviated "DFA" -- that player is immediately removed from his club's 40-man roster. Within seven days of the transaction (had been 10 days under the 2012-16 Collective Bargaining Agreement), the player can either be traded or placed on outright or unconditional release waivers.
  8. Shame Cedric just missed that ball. If we're up 1-0 do they just make the game a final or do they still play it tomorrow? Confusing rule at times. Not sure what the Home Plate Ump would decide. The start is really early tomorrow. I guess he might have made it official but who knows.
  9. Oh you're back? Board quality was great for a week, now gone to hell again.
  10. Even worse, Gleybar Torres hit the 3R homer and his OPS is like .500.
  11. Woo is the pitcher I wanted from Seattle. 6IP 2H 7K. He's gonna be a stud.
  12. Glad we aren't the only team Dylan Moore wore out. He had 2 HR tonight.
  13. Man if Mateo can OPS around .700 he's going to be worth his weight in gold. Great AB.
  14. Solid evidence. Show guys with 4000 games managed and compare them to a guy with 700.
  15. If you aren't named Aaron Boone or David Bell, you just don't show up on many ejection leaderboards. I wouldn't consider either of them elite managers. I'm okay with not getting tossed as I don't believe it helps the team, just my opinion.
  16. Nobody is privy to the discussions he has with the players. To say he is too passive is a silly assumption. He called them out last night for needing to take better at bats. He's not afraid of his players or hurting their feelings, they are all big boys.
  17. Ah, okay. The secret is to get tossed in the first inning. Got it. You are speculating that the players don't think he's standing up for them, you'd need 100 foot arms to reach that far, but whatever. Aaron Boone got tossed more than anyone last year and compelled the Yankees to 82 wins. He's one of the greats.
  18. Again, show data where this helps. If there is any evidence that getting tossed fires up your team and compels them to victory it failed in the last game Hyde got tossed in this season.
  19. Statcast shows the pitch would have been called a strike to Gunnar in an automated zone.
  20. Not me, it was a BS call and Lars knows the zone as well as anyone. I'm not okay with any pitchers getting balls called strike 3, even our own guys.
