I get it, I guess. I would argue that potential doesn't win games but results do, and what they've been doing is winning games. I do believe that running Cowser out as a full time player with a .400 OPS and meh defense had they kept him up here would have resulted in us having a worse record today. I can't remember a single time when future potential made a team better than actual production on the field. I'm sure Frazier is in there because Gallen is a RHP and as we've seen in the first two games, just making contact, that turf plays oddly and anything can happen.

Is your argument that the process and decision-making that has gone on up until today is not the reason they are in first place, and they have continued to win despite being continuously hamstrung by Mike Elias? That would be a hard pill for me to swallow.

If you are using OPS+ as your argument, Hicks is higher than both Cowser and Westburg. I'm not advocating for him being in the lineup, just pointing that out.

I feel like the last thing they are worried about in the last 3 1/2 weeks of the season or whatever is player development. I think they are more focused on what got them where they are and pushing through with it and seeing where the chips fall.
