  1. If he could stay healthy and had a little pop he’d be a heck of a player. No thump in the bat and can’t stay on the field. His OBP skills don’t translate to the MLB.
  2. I think they want him “well done” this go round. Imagine they will wait as long as that takes for him to absolutely dominate and show he can hit various types of pitches.
  3. Correct, under control. Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t realize that was the situation. I’d be pretty surprised if he isn’t on the 26man next year.
  4. I believe he’s under contract through 2025, so I’d say we will be seeing a good bit of him until next October.
  5. JH stays hot. 2 for 4 with a BB. OPS up to .927.
  6. That was about as dominant a half inning as you’ll see. Tip of the cap to Yimi.
  7. That’s a unique way to F up a game.
  8. Dang. Stowers expanded the zone big time.
  9. Wow. That swing was embarrassing. Mullins looks salty.
  10. He’s had a good game. Nice to see.
  11. Toronto missed an opportunity to do a full Jean uniform top and bottom.
  12. Me too. I’m hoping Irvin is a floor for him.
  13. Seems like a reasonable comp to me. Cade Povich Fastball Slider Curveball Changeup Command FV 45 / 50 50 / 55 50 / 55 35 / 50 45 / 60 50 Cole Irvin Fastball Slider Curveball Changeup Command FV 45 / 45 45 / 45 45 / 45 55 / 55 55 / 55 35+
  14. He's at 61% Strikes on the season (62% before his clunker). He has a 1.112 WHIP and 11.9 K/9 with a 3.57 SO/W rate. His misses are competitive. He's not a guy struggling to find the plate. He's throwing pitches from strike to ball to get whiff & has the ability to adjust. When he doesn't have his 'A' game he competes.
  15. My main question for his debut is if we will be able to recognize what HuskerFan’s new screen name is?
  16. His control issues are overblown on here. As I’ve stated a few times now, he was a control command guy in college. His control issues were a result of working on his pitch design.
  17. I was talking to a guy that runs an academy and the way I understand it is that the players are Essentially going to become independent contractors. Even outside of NIL money schools will be able to offer a contract for the player’s services. IE. LSU & the other big boys might have a 20-30MM payroll.
  18. I was only responding to the part in your post about the success of players developed by Boddy. Your post made it sound like you hadn’t seen any data on his ability to develop pitchers so I replied with a data point.
  19. Kinda lowbrow but a heads up play by the C nonetheless. You’ll only get away with that a handful of times a year.
  20. The C def did that on purpose to get an out. No doubt. Pretty lousy call but the C sold it pretty well.
  21. I think the maturity level plays a huge part as well. You really have to get a good read on a HS kid, his family, and inner circle to have faith he will be able to handle everything that comes with pro ball….ie: first time away from home, first time away from his support system, grueling schedules, insane competition, dealing with failure & adversity.
  22. Full scholarships for entire roster is going to happen. The bigger schools will be offering money for 4 year commitments. Players will be able to get paid + get a full ride.
