  1. Or — when he extends or keeps some or at least one of our cool kids. Nothing more depressing to me than developing talent that spends some glory years in NY or LA.
  2. With some substantive free agents, lots of bodies about to fill the waiver wire — I think teams have too many short term options to want one of our (Urias, Mateo options) older extras. I’m guessing Elias may wait.
  3. Agreed. I think the old school vibe about team chemistry has something to it — but so hard to give it WAR value.
  4. Yes it is. I think I’ll finally exhale and get fired up about it when the final MLB owner vote is announced.
  5. Are there sources for Hyde getting the daily line-up handed to him? I imagined a briefing or a pre-game from the FO and then he sets his line-up.
  6. Rinehart tried to make it a game — O’s hold on 7-3. Hennen 3 pitches, 3 strikes for the save.
  7. Stowers Strikes Again! Birds up by a touchdown.
  8. Yeah, that catch kept the inning from going off the rails.
  9. All of the O’s starters now subbed out except for Mayo and Kjerstad to start the 7th - Birds up 5-0.
  10. Robinson in for Hays on first.
  11. Hays with a very nice single - 3 RBI’s on the day.
  12. Hays home run, Birds finally on the board! 1-0.
  13. One inning for Terehan - kept everything around the plate for a shut out inning.
  14. Tate looked decent too - Mounty flashing the leather over at the first base bag.
  15. O’s making Stroman look like Cy Young.
  16. Decent interview with pitching coach Drew French.
  17. I know Wong is likely a depth move, but he looks in mid season form with the glove so far.
  18. It feels like Irvin is being squeezed a bit, he should have got the strike call before the soft single.
  19. Yeah, CF camera is not making me dizzy today.
  20. Irvin gets out of the jam - solid D from Wong and Kjerstad. Early strike zone seems small the way the Ump is calling it.
  21. It would definitely be a huge home town discount extension. I like Santander and wouldn’t mind if the O’s do find a reasonable deal to keep him, but there is a key wild card here — new ownership. We don’t know what the payroll budget is going to look like David Rubenstein and company are in charge. I imagine their first days will be hanging out with Mike Elias and trying to figure out a budget to extend or keep some of the younger stars.
