  1. If I was capable of the emotion I'd feel sympathy for those poor lost souls.
  2. I'm not worried about losing a 22 year old relief pitcher in A ball.
  3. Right, you were wondering if I had personal information from the GM. ? Totally reasonable request.
  4. I'm still trying to see where you admitted you were wrong. You admitted to not being informed and then you, frankly I'm not sure what that second post was about. Asking me if I "personally" know what Elias thinks. Just seems like you were lashing out at that point.
  5. I think you added a few too many zeros to what the O's would pay.
  6. You are correct, I expect even less out of posters after reading his post.
  7. Naw, I just stopped reading at the /. That's what the / means right? You can stop reading?
  8. They picked a guy who hasn't managed to get off the island?
  9. Which day? I think Elias gets more excited about day three of the draft.
  10. Are they hearing if it is the O's that will be picking at 2?
  11. Prime Zack was an outlier. Guys looking for a higher launch angle are better able to go down and lift the ball, whereas someone with a flat or downward stroke is going to be even more likely to hit it on the ground. Those same launch angle guys are more likely to pop up a high fastball then someone with a flat or downward stroke.
  12. Elias is a high fastball fan. You know how you have L/R splits? The same things happens with ground ball/fly ball. Ground ball pitchers are more susceptible to launch angle guys.
  13. I think they were worried the O's couldn't compete when teams were spending that kind of money.
  14. Being really bad isn't the same as tanking. The 1988 Orioles were not tanking, the 2018 Orioles were not tanking.
  15. Oakland and the Rays never tanked. But mostly yea, it's the payroll. Nite was worrying about the huge contracts.
  16. I don't have a problem with owners not spending. I'm just pointing out that two large market teams that gutted payroll during rebuilds seemingly are not using that money to sustain high payrolls when they are competitive. You don't think Correa is a player the Astros should be spending on?
  17. A market as large as the Astros should easily be able to handle staying at the soft cap level of spending not even counting the money they saved when they gutted payroll.
  18. For those in the save money so they can spend it when they are competitive camps, notice that both the Cubs and the Astros are talking about getting rid of players because they are getting too expensive? I guess they spent all the money they had saved up.
  19. They have it but if they aren't willing to spend it the fact that they have it is irrelevant.
  20. If the Rays can do it the O's can do it. If Oakland can do it the O's can do it. The template exists.
  21. Well they have four much watch players. They have to try and get something out of the Trout years.
