  1. I only compared it to the cutter. I don't hate the sweeper. It was just the pitch du jour. It worked great last year, but hitters adjust and it isn't a panacea. Just like the cutter.
  2. If there wasn't a market for it folks wouldn't do it. I find the think of the kids arguments specious at best. The collectors I know are almost always adults. Kids have 5 Funko pops, adults have 500.
  3. That's what they are asking, not what they are getting.
  4. A lot of guys are pretty good when they aren't bad.
  5. I know a couple people who don't like their comedy too funny.
  6. Incorrect. Santander- 26.5 ft/sec O'hearn- 27.3 ft/sec This stuff is super easy to check these days.
  7. That doesn't bother me. The self inflicted concussion does.
  8. My guess is that since he is a well respected vet they told him that his role would be more substantial than simply back up catcher when they traded for him and they are honoring their word.
  9. His career line is 296/399/694. I'd be prepared for him to start regressing.
  10. Right, he chose to reference four players as "catching lightning in a bottle" and only two of the four are performing better than would be expected (in a smaller sample size). I don't think there is any special sauce that's being applied. (I'm guessing special sauce of a euphemism for PEDS right?)
  11. You are forgetting the folks over the last few years that they missed on. Dwight Smith Jr as an example. Also, McCann- 2023- 64 OPS+ 2022- 56 OPS+ 2021- 76 OPS+ Career- 82 OPS+. I'm not seeing any McCann lightning. Frazier is also below his career average OPS.
  12. When a guy has a pronounced weakness against a pitch that 85%+ of pitchers throw and 100% can throw it's fair to question using draft capital on him.
