  1. Naw, I'm good. Soulless music isn't my thing. They should have done like Zappa did at the end and just have computers play all the instruments.
  2. There are many things I hate more than low OBP. People for instance. And Steely Dan.
  3. Maybe hanging an off-speed pitch to Ohtani was part of the game plan?
  4. But they aren't in the case of a multiyear tank.
  5. The competitive balance tax has done a ton to fix that issue. Every team can spend enough to be competitive. The question is are they willing to? When the O's suffer because they aren't willing to spend money on International talent that isn't the fault of resource inequality. When the A's owner (net worth 2.4B) isn't willing to spend is resource inequality really the issue?
  6. It is. It just isn't that easy to project. SG is saying that Berry had arguably the best hit tool in the draft, I thought it was Termarr Johnson. Spencer Torkelson went 1-1 as a RH 1B on the strength of his hit tool and he's put up a 77 OPS+ for his ML career.
  7. Now to me tanking is more justifiable in a league with a salary cap. The players still get paid and the owner isn't rewarded financially for intentionally putting a non-competitive team out there.
  8. We've also been hearing Palmer's material for decades.
  9. Of course there is value in it. But is the value worth the overall cost? It is for the owner, but for everyone else? I'm fine with not rewarding a team that is making no effort at all to be competitive.
  10. Tanking is only good for the owner's bottom line. It's not good for the fans, it's not good for the sport, it's not good for the players, it's not good for the owners actually trying to win. Makes me miss the old days in which attendance was actually important.
  11. I've heard martini before and Bourbon Street isn't known for BBQ.
  12. Isn't it Bourbon Street Martini?
  13. Conceivable. It was a pretty old barracks. The Air Force peeps who were housed in similar barracks got extra money for the sub-standard accommodations. I got real good at stripping and waxing floors.
  14. You say you were expecting anything like what we've seen this year and everyone knows you are a liar.
  15. I was really not good at it. In hindsight the whole program seems pretty sus. It was a 63 week course and most of the students got rolled back at least once. I figure they didn't get much more than a year in the field out of the average graduate.
