  1. I would guess Mancini but I have no idea what the numbers are going ot look like in July.
  2. Yeah I do too. I believe he's since become a naturalized citizen and I imagine lives in the Seattle area but that has to sting.
  3. Unfortunately I think Felix might be at the end of his line which is too bad because he was such a great pitcher in his prime.
  4. That would definitely explain it. Man I remember when Justin Upton was the youngest guy in the league and now people our age are grizzled bets.
  5. Ain’t there yet lol. But my brother told me the first player born in the 21st century made his debut today.
  6. Youngest O’s team I’ve seen in awhile. Outside of Davis and Trumbo, I don’t think there’s a guy older than me on the roster.
  7. Seem like a fun group of guys. Gonna enjoy rooting for them. Awesome for Means to get the win today. He certainly earned it.
  8. I'm excited to see the new faces. I really didn't watch much last year and I didn't catch any Spring Training since I was busy with classes. It's a new era today. I'm not expecting much this season but I'm happy because baseball is back which means warmer weather and there's no sport I love talking about more than baseball.
  9. I wish him well in the next chapter of his life. Was so happy for him when he debuted for us since we're the same age and he lived the dream. He wasn't a star or even an average MLBer but he made it which is more than you can say about a lot. GL Steve.
  10. He will and should be a first ballot guy. Always felt he was underrated by the average fan. Props to a great career and good luck in retirement.
  11. I noticed that too. Doesn't matter I agree. In fact, it might be a little better since a childhood O's fan may get overly sentimental than a non-one and NOVA is full of transplants. I noticed something interesting looking at his biography, he went to Thomas Jefferson high school, I'm not sure if you Marylanders especially closer to Baltimore are familiar with TJ but it's a very prestigious high school academically speaking. I really like Elias so far. He seems to have a plan about what he wants to do, he communicates it well, and I'm genuinely interested in seeing what he does.
  12. Everything went KC's way that could happen and nothing ours. Still kills me because that quite honestly was the best Orioles team in my life with maybe the '97 team only better.
  13. Not a blank check but more an opportunity to show marked overall improvement year to year in the areas we need it most.
  14. Oh of course. But has it been a key part of the emphasis of the FO? I liked Duquette but he definitely wasn't one that seemed to see that as a priority.
  15. That's something that needs to change if we're going to be successful again. I don't expect us to be top-5 every year but it should be a goal to try to get into the top ten. When we were successful in the mid 60's through the early 80's, we had a strong farm system that allowed a sort of next man up when a guy either left via FA, got traded, retired. The key to long term success will not be attracting free agents but making our system a top tier one where we can generate strong prospects who can contribute at a fraction of the cost of a big name FA. Not saying we shouldn't be active in FA. We absolutely should but the key is the farm.
  16. Yep! Been that way since 2004. I thought the RS finally winning would be therapeutic for that fan base but that combined with their football team makes NE sports fans my least favorite of any region.
  17. I'll take the Dodgers winning. I don't know too many of their fans and another RS win would be awful. Sure wish Milwaukee had won though. I like it when the small market teams win.
  18. Me too. Until 2012, people our age had only seen two Orioles playoff teams. I admit a lot of my hate of the Yankees was based in jealously but you know what, jealously is a human emotion and it's perfectly okay to hate a team because of that.
  19. Certainly if I were a Giants fan, I'd be steaming now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Well last night was the opposite, the joy of winning losingable games. I was so nervous when Bundy had the bases loaded with no one out and the Dodgers had other opps too, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. It's unfortunately the nature of relievers. One year you're closing 50 games and the next you're just another guy. Remember before K-Rod broke the single seasons record, ti was held by Bobby Thigpen. It's too bad though. I liked JJ. I was at his debut when he started and at the Yankees ALDS game where first showed signs of struggles.
  22. It's a good question. I like us though. I'm biased as hell but I think we have a nice thing going over Boston, and that's the pen. Plus as funny as it sounds but I think we got more guys who have been there before. Outside Ortiz, there's really not a ton of guys with a ton of pennant run experience on Boston.
