  1. How does Cowser get at bats with Mullins starting mostly? Is he going to replace Hays or Santander? Nope So the question really is whether getting him Norfolk ABs till rosters expand or limited/no ML bats is better.. i pick the former.
  2. Yeah that’s why Elias and Hyde play him cause they don’t know near as much about statistics and value .. they must be “delusional “ too lol. And the other players like him this year have somehow put us on pace for the best season in 40 years ..yeah, they are hardly any good at all… lolol
  3. Fortunately fWAR doesn’t play any games except fantasy ones.
  4. I would have added “See ya!!” Lol
  5. Palmer reaction would have been different lol.
  6. I agree… the state has no reason to further increase its financial support of the Angelos family.
  7. You didn’t want Frazier to be signed at all and you along with many here have said throughout that you wanted him replaced by Ortiz, Westburg, or the fan behind the dugout. I disagreed then and throughout and now. Hicks made substantial contributions when Mullins went down.. maybe he falls off or maybe with a rest break he again streaks .. I am fine with him being the backup 4th outfielder unless he performs say like Cowser has. I have been done with the Elias obsession with Mateo for some time. I thought he was fixable but isn’t. As his defense has declined, I would not keep him for speed alone. I think they want to still try to fix him and not DFA him.
  8. Hard to see who goes and who stays at this point. Means could take Irvin role. Who does Wells replace? Webb? Is Baker banished for good? Does DL replace Coulombe if injured or Cionel if Coulombe is back? Is Givens anything? Elias and staff are basically piling up options and will likely wait as long as possible and then go with the hottest hands. Who of the 6 starters you mentioned do you move to pen? (I already would move Wells and put Means in pen if ready which leaves 5).
  9. You know what player I am referring to.. there is an entire thread of people bashing him since March lol
  10. And you are similarly seeming on a quest against vets who have contributed significantly to this spectacular season as being “awful and with no hope” in favor of the young guys developing . Yes, I lean to wanting contributors right now.. 2023. Young or old. We disagree.. we agree on wanting a championship.
  11. Absolutely.. all I know for sure is .117 and no HRs and - 0.7 WAR
  12. Didn’t say his was, at all. I said I think he would benefit from more playing time in Norfolk to reset a bit at this point. You disagree, ok . If he proves me wrong, then fantastic!! But performance is what is needed, not reasons why not.
  13. Or they all could have setbacks or not contribute and none of them can fill closer role imho except in noncloser situations. Maybe a 7th or 8th inning role but even that is still a big question mark..
  14. Ok .. we disagree.. we shall see what happens and how his OPS looks by October
  15. I am not a fan of Mateo or McKenna except in limited roles ..Cowser has little use sitting behind Mullins .. I think that Cowser’s confidence is down, the pressure is getting to him and to place your expectations in him in playoffs is misguided. If and when he hits his first HR in bigs I just hope that it is not in April 2024. I think primarily the kid would benefit from a brief reset in Norfolk and joining back after rosters expand if he has refound his swing.
  16. At a .117 /.420 OPS in a kid who is clearly pressing in a pennant race and risking his future development because of some misguided thoughts about “adjusting “
  17. This is no time for lengthy “periods of adjustment “ .. sorry, we have a division to win. He has not performed… period. Rationalize it, explain it as adjusting whatever… we need someone that can at least get a hit occasionally
  18. For those concerned about Bautista, think about what a nightmare him going out at all would create!! A tidal wave.
  19. This is correct. Elias is putting a bunch of faith in experiments like Webb, and Fuji even with verrrry thin almost nonexistent options if any injuries.
  20. Exactly!! Everyone needs to breathe. Lol And two of those “bad” performances were against the defending World Champions who are clicking on all cylinders … jeez .. we are not going to be playing Houston EVERY game. He threw 102.5 mph and had again issues with the splitter sure which he needs against the best lineups but that is just the way it goes against a lineup like Houston. Their hitters BE good!!!!
  21. Exactly… fans should turn up the heat.. JA thinks national media is roasting him here, wait till the narrative begins to focus on Angelos as he continues to obfuscate and obstruct and ultimately not signing the lease ..because he surreptitiously plans to move the team to Nashville
  22. Come now .. because he lost one save to arguably the best team in AL and WS champions and had trouble today with same means nothing really against at least 29 other teams. Bautista can close every time successfully against bad to mediocre and even ok teams even WITHOUT solitter control. But he needs it against the top lineups in most instances. When he has it, he not only closes , he makes hitters look stupid. The problem is Cano and there being NO other lockdowns in the pen. But that is what we have. I do think Wells could be a lockdown guy if velo back up. Fuji is a head case. Great arm and dominant but then melts down in an instant. Not reliable enough to close. I expect zero from Givens, Tate , even Means who has not pitched in a bullpen since 2019
