  1. We are bound and determined to lose this stupid game .. this team is incapable of blowing snybody out
  2. As they say there are “lies, damn lies and statistics.”
  3. So if McKenna catches a popup we are on a 105 win pace lol
  4. He needs to follow Grod to Norfolk . bring up Westburg
  5. Great .. what an awful team offensive performance
  6. This team should have stayed in bed today
  7. You let their guy pitch 7 complete and look like a bunch of high school players doing it. Worse game than the 6-0 loss to KC
  8. This team has won close games with a thin margin. What it cannot do is overwhelm another team.. to just punch them in the mouth, take over a game and shutout the other team. We have had almost no blowouts this season.
  9. Well .. we have helped them with that today.
  10. Just when you think Perez has something figured out, then he has an outing like this where it seems he has never pitched a game in his life.
  11. Here we go .. next sound you hear will be 5-0 . I can understand losing to a hot Texas team but there is no excuse for today. Hyde needs to light a bit of a fire .
  12. So now Perez comes in to blow up the game
  13. So if they have no starting pitching weakness and no bullpen weakness, how are they 23-29 ?
  14. So this is 4 games in a row except for Hays where the offense has disappeared. I have just about had it with the automatic outs of defensive types like Mateo, and McKenna is seriously in need of someone taking his roster spot
  15. Of course, although Gunnar’s show has been pretty low rent theater thus far.
  16. Maybe there has been a big trade for a TOR in the past where the prospects coming back were rated highly but say hitting .175 in their big league callup. I can’t recall. Routine trades yeah.. but a big time mega deal swap for a TOR.. well fan base PR and thus ownership are in the mix big time with that type of deal and they may have more heartburn if the guy coming back has been struggling at the big league level. Even if it is not a problem for the GM/staff.
  17. Fair enough .. but then from Jun 1 of 1982 to the end of the season Cal was 126 WRC+ and AL ROY … et tu, Gunnar?
  18. Clayton Kershaw of great TOR types may have been the prime example but a number of others. Baseball is so streaky and so contingent on game variables.. it is why the 69 Mets could win over the best team in baseball.. The best team doesn’t routinely win in the playoffs or Series, the hottest team in the playoffs usually wins. Kershaw rests alone in the deep trenches of postseason stinkiness. If we look strictly at postseason ERA compared to regular season, Kershaw is almost two runs above. That figure is the worst among pitchers with at least 50 innings in the postseason. The only other pitchers I could find who pitched a minimum of 50 innings in the postseason and had an ERA at least one run higher than their career ERA, are Bret Saberhagen, Greinke, and Vida Blue. Kershaw’s 158 innings are double any of those pitchers in the postseason. https://baseballegg.com/2019/10/12/is-kershaw-the-worst-great-pitcher-in-postseason-history/
  19. There was a time when I thought Hays would be an All Star year in and out .. hope this season turns out to be that kind
  20. Yeah and lots of TOR types also crap the bed in the playoffs .. i have seen plenty of middle starters do fantastic in playoffs and plenty of TORs flame out. Just because you go get some TOR guarantees absolutely nothing.
