  1. Or he’s just awful and couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a f’n boat…not sure why the FO is the only ones who can’t see it.
  2. Might just be me, but after the swing the kid yelling “you suck” at the pitcher over and over beats out the announcers amazed reaction for pure entertainment. Maybe something’s wrong with me…
  3. All of that for a soccer game?!?! Can’t fault them for forcing something exciting and badass into such a boring sport.
  4. Awesome day. Literally couldn’t have gone any better. Absolutely love this pic…Rubenstein meeting my favorite usher of all time. That guy is full energy and personality and seems to have been at the park forever. Dang, new to posting after over a decade lurking around here, but it’s the bottom left picture of the four posted to the game recap.
  5. Sigh. Absolutely ridiculous. Not that at this point it can’t be seen coming a mile away, but to me this was a layup of a deal and yet again nothing gets done. Unless a surprise trade or something comes after this which is extremely unlikely, very disappointing outcome if not totally predictable at this point.
  6. Touché, I was about to say Corey Seager in 2020 and 2023 (which was at least close) but you definitely one upped me.
  7. Morale, PR boost, whatever verbage you use it would be a very strong move for us. If you’d rather ticky tack over how I said it rather then the rest of the reasons I laid out why the deal would make a ton of sense, by all means go ahead. That’s on you compadre.
  8. You can’t say the things Elias said about Jackson all spring and then about face and send him down after he has arguably one of the best camps of anyone on the team and not ruffle a few feathers (pun not intended). I’m not going into all of this again as it’s been mulled over ad nauseam already, but at the very least the move definitely comes off to some if not most as service time manipulation. All I’m saying is it wouldn’t hurt fan morale to add a serious help to this rotation to go along with the official announcement of Rubenstein coming up. Nothing absurd about that.
  9. Oh and that’s not to mention giving the O’s fans some good vibes after the whole Holliday situation which left slot of us (myself included) with a bad taste in our mouths going into this pivotal year.
  10. I was thinking about this exact situation this morning and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense all around. For us he fits in perfectly into the rotation that IMO desperately needs it. We have the money. We should be going all in with most likely only one year of Burnes. No worries about a QO pick being taken away (would have been a surefire dealbreaker for Elias) since he was traded mid-season last year. Even if Bradish and Means come back when we think you always need pitching. For Montgomery he gets a one year deal to reprove his worth, pitching in a highly viewed market where he can stick it to the big market teams in division who didn’t offer up the big money he wanted. Good pitchers park, with fantastic run support to give him his best chance to put up numbers for a potential bigger payday next offseason. By waiting until after OD now he takes away the QO worry for teams looking at him next year. of course this makes all the sense in the world so waiting to be disappointed when it doesn’t come to fruition….
  11. “I can’t remember a team having two prospects go 1-2 in the ROY race.” 2024 Rangers are about to say “hold my beer”.
  12. This. I will preface this by saying that I too am very disappointed with the news, not only for Holliday, but potentially for Norby should any of these other at best AAAA guys ends up starting games at second over him. However, I feel like a lot of people here have the opinion that Holliday winning ROY is either a foregone conclusion or anything close to it given a start to the season up here. On the Rangers alone he is facing both Carter and (a now starting the season up) Langford, who both have just as good if not better in my opinion a shot at taking ROY as Holliday does. Might be forcing myself to look at a glass half full situation right now but just my take.
  13. No David Ortiz? Somewhere an O’s dugout phone is not resting in pieces….
