  1. I am hoping for something in between Juan Pierre and Kenny Lofton. Kenny Lofton had 68 BWAR which is insane vs. Pierre's 17. I would hope Bradfield would have a higher defensive floor than Pierre although I was hoping to give Bradfield a little more time before trying to project him. At what age are people hoping he comes up. Does coming up in 2 years, meaning he spends age 22 and 23 in the minors, be too aggressive? At some point, the speed and defensive value would decline, right? I would hope he could be up in the majors by 24, although that could be too lofty.
  2. I certainly don't think I can place a value on anything in spring training one way or the other. Its hard to tell who is experimenting, trying something new or just not going hard. But it never hurts to see plate discipline, hard contact, pitchers throwing strikes with good velocity etc. Again, nothing to base anything really on, but maybe slightly helpful nonetheless.
  3. Is there something wrong with me that I kinda liked Baker. No clue why. Wasn't he the guy who would be the goofy moonwalk off the mound. I found him to be the most comical part of last season.
  4. Sports Guy - I like the alignment you have laid out and I agree that they should try to get to the point of not moving people all over the place. A question for you: do you know (cant remember what Tony said) how well Holliday projects at short? Does he project to have the range and arm? Gunnar graded pretty well at short last year (I believe), but definitely looks to be a good fit at 3rd as well.
  5. I like Elias, I have faith. I totally get being annoyed that they haven't done much outside of Kimbrel. But at the end of the day, even if Elias does absolutely nothing, its just so hard to be really mad. He turned a dumpster fire of an org into a really respectable org without spending nearly as much money as other.
  6. I think Elias has a ridiculous amount of worth to this org. This post is yet another example of high quality decision making by Elias impacting the entire org. I think Elias could make an argument that he is worth significantly more than your average GM.
  7. In my line of work, I have seen some guys get second chances and have it work and I have also seen the opposite. Its hard to judge this situation without many facts. If I had to guess, this guy was probably physically abused as a kid and probably watched him mom get abused. He probably turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. With that being said, I am not sure if he can or has made enough progress that I would be comfortable with him on the O's. Alcoholism and Domestic Violence are very scary. I trust Elias to do his due dilligence and wont throw a fit if this signing happens, although I will always feel uncomfortable.
  8. Soto just provides so much power and on base abilities. Defense is very poor and I wonder what happens on defense if they have Soto long term to go with Stanton and Judge. any offense that adds Soto is instantly far more dangerous and tough to get through.
  9. How much do you think this helps the Yankees. general thoughts on the trade?
  10. I like this as I have 4 kids and the games going past 10 can be tough. I do agree that night games are cool though, especially in the hot summer. Why not games at 530 or something. Split the difference. Or do: 4pm in March, April, May, September, October and 7pm: June, July, August
  11. What you have laid out here seems like very reasonable comps. I just hate giving long contracts to pitching. Seems like such a high likelihood they get hurt and don’t work out. But Bradish and Grayson seem like great candidates for this all things considered. I would like to see similar deals.
  12. Do you think westburg is just in a funk?
  13. Agree completely. While Sig and Elias aren't perfect, I could not expect any better than what they have done... Basallo, Bradfield, Mayo, Norby, Ortiz, Holliday. Just such a good job. Moving the LF fence back. Plugging the holes with decent vets. Really worried that Angelous drives them away.
