  1. Trying. She wants to try some new restaurant here on her birthday, which is during the weekend this year.
  2. Trying to go this year, but not 100% sure yet. The wife's birthday is right in the middle of it. For 3 years, I've tried convincing her to go during that week, using the "beaches and not snow" excuse. It worked once, but we went 2 weeks after her birthday and didn't hit the beach once (but did hit the Minor League training site almost every day, due to our extensive time in Bowie and Frederick the season prior.)
  3. The fact that no name was given makes me think it isn't Caleb.
  4. I'd be up for it, would just need to know ahead of time to take time off work.
  5. They should have announced this at FanFest.
  6. Congrats man. Meeting you in Bowie and hearing you analyze spin rate and launch angle hurt my head for a bit, because you were so advanced at it at the time already. The Orioles are lucky to have your contributions. If anyone earned this opportunity, it was definitely you.
  7. Wonder how many scouts Elias will send to check out their future draft picks...
  8. Maybe he is using "talk to text" too.
  9. I guess tomorrow we will hear who was DFA'ed. Signing probably isn't official yet as they probably still have the physical.
  10. One thing about Scott is that he has improved at throwing strikes and keeping the ball in the park (which seems strange to say), as in Bowie, he would either be striking out all 9 batters he faced, or giving up a home run that put drivers on the Interstate on alert.
  11. Get rid of Castro and Givens and suddenly, Stevie might be your best bullpen weapon.
  12. If I get down there this year, I have to try Yoders.
  13. https://www.springtrainingonline.com/teams/baltimore-orioles-4.htm This has the Minor League address on it. The schedule is posted usually late February/early March, but it isn't garunteed. There *should* be a game or two every day, as A/A+ teams are "home" when AA/AAA teams travel, and vice versa. I don't remember the exact time, but they are early in the day. Again, free parking and free games, with 2 or 3 going on at once. You can watch MLB practice on the back fields (if you've never been, Ed Smith Stadium is the main field and there are a few smaller fields around.) The lots open 2 hours before, but there is a small cluster of stores across the street from Ed Smith Stadium you can park in earlier. The Mexican restaurant there is very good too. There is also a parking lot behind left field, but I'm not sure when it opens. If you get there early (3 hours before the game), you can hang out there and possibly get some batting practice home runs too, as balls can and will bounce out there.
  14. When do you plan on going? That tends to determine a few things. Morning practice is generally open but can start anywhere from 7 am to 10 am and end early (10 am) or up to 2 pm. But that is usually early in camp. Once games start, practice is all over. Autographs are usually before the game, inside. However, you can also get a fair amount after the games, outside. During home homes, walk along the outside of the stadium on the first base side, go past right field, and there is a parking lot. A lot of players on both teams come out that way and are usually friendly. For away games, best bet is inside before the game, as sometimes it might be tough getting near the bus area. For the Orioles, the Minor League camp is a few miles away, but 100% worth it. Free parking and games, the players walk right by you ( easy autograph access) and players sit in the bleachers with you. Just bring sunscreen and snacks.
  15. And they have until the first game of the MiLB season to figure it out. Some guys will be hurt, some released, some retire. Worrying about 21 pitchers on a minor league roster right now, when no roster is set at all (Norfolk has, what, 10 players on it?) is an exercise in futility, especially at lower levels.
  16. Pretty sure worrying about having 21 pitchers in A+ in December is on the list of "we need more things to talk about."
  17. You can take Federowicz off here. He was signed by the Rangers to a MiLB deal with a Spring Training invite. Probably also safe to remove Jesus Sucre, after the way last season ended. Also, I don't see Caleb on the list.
  18. "Darren Holmes 2020 Players Weekend Jersey: The Hose"
  19. Do "hit by pitch" count as walks too?
  20. Severino might have finally gotten into a rhythm with the pitchers. Remember, he was brought in during the last, what, week? Week and a half of Spring Training?
  21. Maybe not "rosiest," but I think it is semi-realistic. I know every team will have them, but I think the Yankees will have more injuries, for some reason.
