  1. Admittedly, it is always a lot better to watch another team dismantle itself when there is no rooting interest in them.
  2. I agree with this, but have one question about something you mentioned: Is it a major warning sign about Elias not being given the money, or was this more of an Elias decision? We know how Peter was, but are the kids more "hands off" when it comes to letting the GM make decisions? If this is the owners/kids saying "save this money," then that is one thing. If it is all Elias, then it comes off as something else, especially the timing.
  3. The holiday spirit hits me hard every year, in a bad way. Thanksgiving to New Years has almost always had bad things for me in life.
  4. The Orioles are leading the way in fan safety now, as getting rid of Bundy would make the left field seats about 70% safer from flying baseballs.
  5. I believe Dan Connelley said they have until Monday when the "non tender" deadline is. I believe that is 4 pm.
  6. Pretty sure Elias knew they wouldn't tender him a contract by the deadline, sometime back before the trade deadline. Also, he isn't DFA'ed...
  7. You get credit for atleast remembering it was a leg injury, with all those recipes taking up space in that brain.
  8. Then what? The teams could offer less than what was offered in July with "take it or leave it" stance.
  9. Why would a team offer anything now? Sit back and wait for the Orioles to non tender him.
  10. They were swapping him basically for Schoop for the post season, plus Villar was trending down. He had a very good season this year. Take advantage of it. I think he was asking for something high enough that other teams didn't want to budge on. Getting even an AA pitcher and fielder would have been good.
  11. Or the fact is, Elias can say there wasn't a trade market because he didn't get the deal he wanted because he had a high asking price.
  12. Now that Weams and I cleared that up... I hate this move. Make this move during the season and get something back. Don't have a "Black Friday" sale on a player you are pretty much telling the league "you don't have to give us anything because he will be a free agent soon, but if you want to toss us a random guy, please do."
  13. Since you are on Twitter, check out Dan Connelly, since I can't post tweets for some reason. Villar was put on the "waiver wire," meaning he is still with the team and on the 40 man roster UNTIL a trade is made or he is released. If no trade happens prior to the non tender deadline, he will either be offered a contract or not, making him a free agent. "DFA" is a MUCH different meaning when it comes to a roster move. Not all roster moves are equal.
  14. Just an fyi: Villar wasn't "DFA'ed." He was just put on waivers to see if another team will take his contract. If not, he is still with the Orioles until they decide to non-tender him or trade him before the deadline.
  15. They might have an agreement with two or more teams and are seeing which team offers what player. Usually an "imminent" trade has an agreement and just need physicals/informing the players.
  16. If only they would say what team is possible, we could bombard @Luke-OH with requests on who they should get back.
  17. Mark Feinsand is reporting a deal for Bundy seems to be getting close. Didn't name a team.
  18. What are you talking about? Williams was called up in September as soon as Norfolk ended its season.
  19. Catcher Carlos Perez signed a MiLB deal with Oakland.
