  1. These are all valid questions, but before we answer them, I think we need to ask whether Elias is willing to trade, silent J, Jackson, and Coby or keep them and suffer through their defense. I don’t think they should be off-limits.
  2. It is a foolish hope to expect a full season out of Rodriguez. Kremer is fine, and I’m glad to have him. Suarez was better in most meaningful stats, but we don’t know what Suarez is going to do. He could possibly be just a flash in the pan. Povich is trade or depth. We need depth. Our 2025 -ready pitchers all have potential problems. but now we also need outfielders and infielders
  3. Why does anyone think mayo can be adequate at any position? He hasn’t shown any defensive ability, and we need good defense.
  4. I should hardly need to remind anyone that Grayson is fragile as glass, Wells isn’t much better, and Bradish won’t be back till late in the season.
  5. Dunno whether this is sarcasm or not, but aren’t you the same guy who chided me for being heartbroken by Raffy?
  6. Holliday, Kjersted, Mayo, should all be on the block.
  7. Fair enough… but who IS to blame? Was it just a team-wide malaise that led to so many valuable regulars drastically underperforming? If it happens to one guy, fine, we’re human. “ Sometimes you suck.” But when it happens to everyone, that’s a problem. Maybe “responsibility” for doing a thing is better than blame for not doing it. But it happened to drastically to too many people to be an individual problem. When the league adjusts to you, having found your weakness, you have to readjust. That didn’t happen. The pitching problem, except for in-game choices, is in a different category, and is Elias’ responsibility. Hyde can only use the guys he has, but Elias has to get good guys. So the clutch hitting is a problem. ALL hitting was a problem, and the blame is not only on the bad hitters.
  8. I agree. But then the question is why did Hyde keep playing him? is it allowed to go on the IL for a problem that isn’t made public?
  9. This question has probably already been addressed, but if he’s not 100% and he’s playing anyway, that’s probably OK if he’s still being productive. If he’s not being productive, the physical problem is severe enough to need some kind of treatment, so isn’t it the manager’s responsibility to sit him? Did Hyde just let him play anyway because he wanted to play through it? Did Hyde insist he play through it? If this story about a physical problem is true, it is on Hyde to make the decision to sit him. And he didn’t.
  10. I’m not getting the presser, just generic Baltimore radio
  11. I was not able to watch the game, but was there any discussion and explanation as to why he pulled him so soon? He was only at 75 pitches.
