  1. Doesn't your logic for Cowser also apply to Kjerstad? Wouldn't he be better off playing every day in AAA than playing 2-3 times a week as a fourth OF in MLB?
  2. He's 27th in all of baseball. That doesn't sound "that low" to me.
  3. Does this mean the All Star game will be back in Baltimore within the next few years?
  4. I simply don't see how a world series champion could be considered "illegitimate." Those teams are playing by the same rules as every other team and managed to win 13 games (in the current format) against the four of the top twelve teams in the league before anyone else did. I certainly wouldn't have considered an Orioles title in 12 or 16 as illegitimate had we won the WS.
  5. Does that mean the Ravens' 2000 Super Bowl was illegitimate?
  6. No Kjerstad or Cowser? I think we move on from Hays and/or Mullins this offseason.
  7. Very curious to see what we do with the OF next year. Would think that Kjerstad and Cowser are going to be in the mix to play every day (assuming they have just decent spring trainings) and I assume Mullins is back in CF to start, so if that's the case, what do we do with Hays (or Santander or O'Hearn)? I also assume Hicks will be gone.
  8. I was born in 75 so I started really following in the early 80's and don't have any of those great 60's or 70's teams from which to choose. 82 was a heartbreaker but 83 was glorious. I think that 97 team was the best O's team since the early 80's. The top of that lineup was something to watch. The best part about this year's team is that it is both unexpected (to the degree they are winning; I was just hoping for a shot at a wildcard) and really feels like just the start of something special.
  9. Likely because RH hitters kill Freeland.
  10. And to guys we have no business walking like Singleton in the ninth.
  11. Not sure. There were at least three balls outside called strikes on Tucker tonight.
  12. People have been saying that all year. And this team has bounced back every time.
  13. Think I read it was first run Bautista gave up since June 24.
  14. Well, JA did hire Elias and likely approve the hiring of Hyde. And it appears he has mostly stayed out of Elias's way and let him and Sig do their thing. He also (and long overdue) authorized us to have a presence in Latin America, which should pay huge dividends in the next few years. So while this KB story is certainly ridiculous and makes him look like a petulant child, it's not as if he hasn't done numerous good things during his brief tenure.
  15. I don't get this. Palmer talks pretty incessantly about how amazing the turnaround has been and reminds viewers all the time that just two years ago, we lost 110 games. That seems worse than what Brown was allegedly disciplined for saying.
  16. To your point, I can't remember a team that uses all of its parts as effectively as this team does. We have gotten contributions, and very timely ones, from just about everyone on the roster and our pick-ups. Rarely do we put out the same lineup on consecutive nights and yet, we continue humming along.
  17. Especially with Westburg, Gunnar and Adley coming up. That was the game right there. We score two more in the second and we likely win.
  18. Best part about this season is the feeling that it's just the start and that we are headed for even better days the next 5-7 years.
  19. Isn't Ortiz a top 100 prospect? Keith Law likes Ortiz just as much, if not more, than Westburg. And this just isn't true as most other publications have them pretty close. Tony has Westburg one spot over Ortiz. My point was if Westburg is getting all that attention and playing every day, Ortiz should have gotten the same.
  20. But by all accounts, Ortiz is much better defensively than either Gunnar or Westburg. Further, Ortiz has hit plenty since recovering from his injury. So while I think you're right on how they view the two, I don't understand it. Ortiz should have been given the same treatment as Gunnar and/or Westburg.
  21. It's the right move. Get some bullpen help for now and bring up Irvin for what would have been Grayson's next start. He has some work to do in AAA to get back to what he was before his injury last year.
  22. The question I have is what the heck happened between September 2022 and April 2023? We are a completely different team in the field with most of the same guys playing the same positions.
