  1. I actually think the advantage is more pronounced with that rule because the runner is much less likely to score with a strikeout pitcher on the mound than someone who gives up soft contact because hitters can hit the ball to the right side in those situations to move the runner. Or simply bunt.
  2. Yes, that’s true, which further makes my point that a good 1-run record isn’t just luck.
  3. Because a team who has a Mason Miller/Felix Bautista or some other heavy strikeout pitcher will have an advantage. That’s not luck.
  4. That 3-4 record is largely because of Kimbrel. I’m not a big believer in the 1-run luck theory, especially now that we have the BS ghost runner.
  5. I think we’ll light Williams up. He’s due for regression. Good chance Parker shuts us down.
  6. Might be another Fuji but if the O’s can get him to throw strikes he’d be great.
  7. There’s no need to shut the thread down. Discussion is good even if you don’t agree with what’s being discussed.
  8. I would take a bag of balls for McKenna.
  9. Who cares. Bold from fans of a team that scored 2 runs the whole series.
  10. No but I think we’ll be fine if we need to have Irvin and Suarez in the rotation in the future.
  11. Complaining in a game thread is better than blowing wins.
  12. Baumann should only be used in mop up situations.
  13. Didn't he get a day off very recently already?
  14. Yeah this is correct, I actually agreed with the move. I would have had Baumann start the inning though.
  15. Just trying to get him some work while also saving Suarez for the Washington series. Right move, but not sure why Suarez started the inning other than Hyde likes to get his face on TV.
  16. Paid by the mid-inning pitching change.
  17. Bottom of the 9th pending, but if Hyde doesn’t use Kimbrel yesterday, it’s likely the Reds don’t score a single run this series. Incredible.
  18. Tony Salami is back y’all!
  19. He never took the bat off his shoulders. It was a called strike. An egregious one. Pretty strange considering he hadn't called anything close to that a strike until then.
  20. Santander got embarrassed right there.
  21. Not in a close game. Plus, you'd only have 20 - 30 minutes of play instead of 3 hours so it would be less likely to interfere with travel times.
  22. They make teams travel for a one-off game to make up for rainouts all the time.
  23. They suspend games now. There should almost never be a game called early for weather.
