Sure doesn’t seem that way. It used to be if you had the best record, you went straight to having home field in a 7 game LCS series (pre 1994) or you were playing a wild card team that was starting off the DS same as you (1995-2012). Look at the results today. It’s pretty apparent the winning teams from last week are fresher, ready to go, and confident. Not much can be done here or will ever change, but it certainly isn’t the advantage it once was. It’s become the same in the NFL too.

Let’s be real. This team won’t score more than 3 runs in any of the next couple games. We’ve seen this act before whether it’s the Ravens or the O’s. No offense when it really matters.

No Adley, Santander, or Gunnar. Going to have an impact….

This damp, cool weather has had an effect On the hitting as well. Because it’s been both sides all week, not just the O’s. A lot of fly balls that just completely die.

Outside of a couple swings the hitting is still atrocious tonight. Can we please win a game that isn’t a nailbiter?

Back to not hitting again. This seems to be a common theme at home the past month or so.

Yeah I’m pretty sure we would have the early game regardless if there was a conflict or not. We are not a big market draw regardless of how good our record is.

I think the league would say to schedule more doubleheaders but the MLBPA would absolutely balk at that.

I’ll say a magic number of 4 or less and we would be in good shape. So whatever combination gets to that… higher than 4 we are going to be sweating it out until next weekend.

The real problem is if this continues for 2 or 3 more games like it did last week. Probably not going to be able to sustain that and win the division.

Gonna be very disappointing when our magic number stays at 7 after looking like it could be 5 a few hours ago. Damnit.

Pretty sure this is the same thing they did in Baltimore. Just fouled off pitch after pitch.

There’s no way the Rays aren’t losing at least 2 games to the Blue Jays/ Red Sox. We’ll be fine, just glad they lose 1 to the shitty Angels.

Did anyone really expect a win tonight? I sure didn’t after the emotions from yesterday.

No this is a Baltimore team. Not happening.

The division race is over. We aren’t winning a game this series. Just try to improve in the next couple of weeks and get ready for the WC round.

This team plays better on the road. Honestly at this point I’d rather them not have a week off and home field and just play in the WC round and see what happens. Rest and home field haven’t worked out well for Baltimore teams over the years.

I don’t want it as much as you or anyone else. But let’s be honest - now that the NFL and College football has started that dominates every sports radio and tv program. Hell even If the O’s win the next 3 games and the Ravens get beat on Sunday in Cinci, that will be the talking point on the Fan or local sports media.

This is a sweep coming. Any Baltimore fan can see it coming. All of their teams fold when it really matters

Tonight isn’t a must win in reality but feels like it. Need to go into tomorrow on a high note and not sputtering to a sub .500 team. How about getting an early lead tonight? Last two nights hasn’t been pretty early on.

Bradish has been awesome but it seems like 6 innings is about his max. But I guess that is the norm these days even for top tier pitchers.
