    Gunnar got a lot of hype (for a baseball player). You don't get to be the top rated prospect without hype. Guys that go 1-1 have a step up when it comes to name recognition. Overall baseball prospects get very little hype. Very few guys get the McDonald, Strasburg, Harper sort of national attention. I'd say Skenes did, but part of it with him is who he is dating.

    It's so easy to miss, even at the top of the draft. Even at 1-1, if you look at the last decade Skenes Holliday Davis Torkelson Rutschman Mize Lewis Moniak Swanson Aiken That's not a ton of stars, as of right now the only one close to Rutschman's success is Swanson.

    I don't think he was called up to be a piece of this team. He was called up to fill in while a piece of this team was on the IL.

    The Fangraphs article concluded that the Tides would only fare slightly better than some other team.

    His baseball age is 24. I think he's more likely to be traded than to suit up in Baltimore.
