  1. To me it isn't so much how much value he has to the A's as a player but what other packages they could get from another team. I agree that he's better utilized as a means to gather additional assets.
  2. I remember a poster having real issues with the School Gunnar went to.
  3. I'll admit the color coding of the defensive positions threw me off for a second.
  4. Oh, Huxley and Wells are miles away from what I was talking about. They have more in common with Shelly and Verne. I'm talking about the Americans churning out work in Astounding Stories trying to make rent. But the other stuff is aces as well, just a different flavor to it.
  5. I don't think you stick a guy on the IL for "a little more sore than normal". They could just be looking for a reason to curtail his usage. Hopefully that's all it is.
  6. Yea, you strike me as the type that is familiar with early 50's Sci-Fi. Or any book without pictures.
  7. I went with the most recent version of the reference and you still come up short.
  8. This is years, at a very low price. That was months. The O's could have an elite closer/set up man combo next year for two million. There is value in that.
  9. Yankees got Torres for a couple months of Chapman.
  10. Grayson's already missed time due to injury. Remember 2022? Who knows how much time he'll miss between now and free agency. It's a bad data point to have on his resume. It doesn't help him in any way and could potentially hurt him. Why should he agree to that for no gain? Would you let your employer do whatever the equivalent would be to you? The arbitration stuff is just silly speculation about how a team could use his generosity against him and once again the IL trip would be a data point and not the whole argument.
  11. A lot of players have significant hot and cold stretches. He's one of them.
