  1. Two walks in the 7th inning when he tired. No walks in the first 6.
  2. “That's true, it depends on what else they do. I've gone on record as saying I think they're going to bank on G-Rod year 2 and a healthy Means being the main "offseason acquisitions." Irvin/Hall for the 5th spot. Now I'm not rooting for that to happen, I agree that they need to add a good starter but I can easily, easily see this outcome. Lots of tire kicking, no acquisitions for a key rotation arm.” On January 9, you were hoping for something better.
  3. His posts are intentionally funny.
  4. Find me someone who had Cole Irvin penciled into our starting rotation. There might be a few before we acquired Burnes. I would guess there were none after that.
  5. I think you worry/think too much. He was lights out in his last AAA start. No one has a clue how he’ll do tonight. Watch the game and find out.

    Coby Mayo 2024

@Frobby often mentions Mayo’s fielding percentage at 3B when discussing if he believes Mayo can cut it at 3B. I noticed that Mayo’s up to .937 but I also notIced that Mayo’s 26 games this season compare favorably to Westburg’s 93 minor league games at 3B. Westburg .944, 132 A, 13 DP, 2.11 RF/9 Mayo .937, 52 A, 7 DP, 2.85 RF/9 This isn’t to say Mayo would be better but, statistically, he’s racking up more assists and DP’s per game.
  7. You or Hyde? If it’s you I think “severe stupidity” is being too hard on yourself.
  8. 100% didn’t want him in the rotation at all going into the off sseason.
  9. Great start. First 6 innings were beautiful. Sounds like he might have been dealing with some minor back issues. Hopefully, they can keep that under control, and the warmer weather should help. Let’s see if he can string a few together.
  10. 3 months ago I would have said yes, no brainer. I still think Scott is a worthwhile target. Miami produces pitching. I’d rather try to get him with someone like Norby or combination of mid to lower tier guys like the Flaherty deal. Lots of Scott detractors but he was elite last year. The walk totals are a concern but if he comes around he’s a difference maker.
  11. As Roch would say, this is a good place to stop.
  12. I think he got into some bad habits in the minors that got exposed at the ML level. I posted Holliday minor league highlights of a much more mechanically sound hitter. Hopefully, he gets back to that ASAP. Some showed a toe tap with barely any leg lift at all.
  13. That’s good because your opinion makes no sense. If Mayo comes up and is good both ways that’s a good thing. Period. You’re more concerned with how it affects Hollidays career than whether it helps the team win this year. And by the way, I answered your three pronged hypothetical on Mayo and gave multiple options on what might happen if Mayo was an all around above average 3B. You seemed aghast at 1) Westburg being an everyday utility guy and 2) experimenting with Holliday in CF. Easy to criticize but then when confronted with your own hypothetical your answer is “I don’t know”. LOL. That’s weak.
  14. You’re safe. He’s only got one angle.
