  1. Sure…but it’s not likely they hit as well or something like that, so your net gain is zero.
  2. I’m pointing out how unrealistic you are being. McKenna is a typical 25th/26th man that you see you on all teams. Finding a better version of him is possible but most better versions will be guys that have larger roles.
  3. You absolutely said it. You said “I don’t think he’s the type of 5th OFer that should be on a WS Contender” Yet every team has guys like that. So, your roster expectations are unrealistic and not founded on reality.
  4. Every team has guys like him. It’s a false narrative to pretend they don’t.
  5. That he’s slumping and does look as bad then numbers say. The level of drama people are bringing into the conversation is absurd.
  6. He sure as hell shouldn’t struggle to get out a guy hitting .097.
  7. Saying he’s lost is an uneducated narrative.
  8. It has been clear that there is a faction of this board and the Os fan base in general that have an over the top dislike for McKenna.
  9. And btw, Cowser isn’t an everyday guy, at least not yet. The injury to Hays has forced him into the lineup more than he should be. His defense has largely been very good, so he’s helping there but hopefully with Hays back, he will start hitting some and Cowser can sit a little more often, as he should be doing right now. Maybe he develops into a 150+ games guy but I think he’s more of a 130-140 games guy right now.
  10. The Os have 3-6 pitchers on the 40 man that you could DFA right now and you either wouldn’t lose them or you wouldn’t care if you did. You can sign their clone tomorrow.
  11. Except it’s not. He saw 15 pitches in 4 at bats yesterday. He is seeing 4.24 PPA overall, which is well above the league average. He went the other way again yesterday, which is something he has been doing a lot. He isn’t trying to be pull happy. His chase % is very good and overall, his statcast numbers are still very good to excellent outside of K and WHIFF rate. As was discussed yesterday, his quality of contact has been very good. He is hitting into some bad luck. Like all players, he will look bad in any given at bat or game. It’s not exactly breaking news that baseball is hard. Yesterday they faced a pitcher who has been very good for this year outside of 1 bad start. The team had 3 hits and 2 were by one guy.
  12. Lots of hitters look bad in an at bat or a game or a week. The incessant crying and whining about it and the over exaggeration over by impatient people who don’t seem to grasp the game or the idea that learning is taking place, is over the top. In this “we must have it right now” world, the sports fan still stands out as the biggest idiot of them all.
  13. You have other AAA OFers that you don’t care if they play or not. Why not bring them up if the intention is to never play Stowers? (Or Kjerstad for that matter) Just an odd use of resources.
  14. He has been able to get by without his best stuff quite often this year. He has been very good overall but he has done absolutely nothing to make even remotely second guess the idea of letting him go and not pay him some huge contract. He has to get back to getting more Ks and missing more bats. I just didn’t think he had a lot yesterday and he knew it.
  15. How did he look lost? He took a bad pitch. Agree. How else did he look lost?
