  1. In the video, man does he fall off to 1st base side. Looks like a nasty reliever type, kinda like inverse of Coulombe.
  2. Gunnar’s D has been spectacular this year and firmly cemented his status as the SS of the present and future.
  3. Plus you eliminate the auto steal on Kimbrel and keep the DP alive.
  4. I swear KB and BenMcD read Os Hangout with the way they have tonight reference BP state of panic and struggles of Mullins/Santa.
  5. 15 swings and misses for Means thru 5 innings. Bradish had 9 swings and misses on Thurs.
  6. Means stuff looks money so far, already 8 swings and misses thru 2.1
  7. Last night Irvin threw over 50% curveballs and that flummoxed the CIN batters. Whether that was pregame plan or was result of calling what was working. Historically, Means is more FB at 50%, changeup at 25% pitch mix. We’ll find out how that plays against the CIN right handed bats.
  8. IMO we will see a move by June 1st for either Holliday or Mayo (maybe both) as the O’s schedule June to all-Star break is tough as nails.
  9. My takeaway is the contrast between a young team versus an aging team. Judge, Stanton, Rizzo, Rodon, Stroman, Cole are on the wrong side of 30 and more likely to decline (or be injured) over the course of the year.
  10. Last year Webb fastball was 95mph. Earlier this year Webb fastball was 91mph. The last couple outings the velo has ticked back up to the 93-94mph range and his secondaries (both changeup and sweeper) are noticeably sharper with swing+miss. I wonder if Webb went through the proverbial “dead arm” period in April and has now reverted back to normal.
