  1. The baseball is a whole lot better now than in 2019, but I'm not sure that the threads are.
  2. In every group of ten people or more, you'll find at least one that is incapable of coloring within the lines. Perhaps the key to happiness is to focus on those who can rather than those who can't.
  3. Norby OR Stowers might not be enough. Both together would be affordable and a legit package for a really good reliever. I would want someone better than Kopech if it's both together.
  4. I think that Westburg's arm might play a little better in the OF than Holliday's. I've always liked the idea of Mayo in RF but IF he can play an average MLB 3B or better then sure, why not?
  5. Hilarious. If JA's publicity guy suggested something like this, there would be a public hanging on the flag court soon after.
  6. I hope that Getz understands that every GM who is likely to be selling this season already has Elias on speed dial. That, and the unsuccessful Cease negotiation, should temper Getz's ask considerably. And if it doesn't then you're right, the O's will still have choices elsewhere.
  7. The real risk for the White Sox is not cleaning house this season - Kopech, Fedde, Jimenez, Robert, the whole lot... Maybe Getz is still trying to get ownership to understand how bad their current situation is, but I wouldn't wait too long if I were them.
  8. If last winter's Dylan Cease saga taught me anything, it's that even well-informed fans of other teams aren't likely to be as familiar with Orioles prospects as we are. By the same token, the Burnes trade showed that reasonable valuations are possible if you have patience. Remember that a large number of posters here were willing to let go of Mountcastle and/or Hjerstad then. I still am, it's just a question of the deal and the timing, and it's still a little early for me.
  9. Interesting. You know Gunnar and De La Cruz are the same age, yet Gunnar's put up 9.4 career WAR to poor Elly's 2.7. If anyone was overrated during the last series it was Nick Lodolo.
  10. There's not a whole lot wrong with the job Westburg's been doing.
  11. I think Elias is already looking for a shutdown late-game reliever though not necessarily an established closer. Nothing wrong with a loose committee.
  12. We'll see, but I think so too. Pulling Kimbrel tonight was a bit out of character.
  13. It was like watching a pitching clinic tonight. Reds batters might have been a little overeager at times, but he was totally in control.
  14. It's 131-1 against. My advice is to declare victory and move on.
