  1. I would much prefer Mayo in the lineup over Urias. I think the Holliday experiment means Mayo stays down until Elias feels like there will be enough playing time available for Mayo to fully make the transition. Right now the team as a whole isn’t playing well enough to carry a weak link anyway.
  2. Then we should spice up the thread title to reflect this developing situation: Studies Show O's First Baseman at Risk for Random Variation!
  3. My point is that several posters, including myself, found the thread title misleading. A lot of us know that the OH can be trusted as a source of credible news and opinion. If you want to erode that trust, one really good way to do it is to slant your thread titles as a cheap attention grab which is clearly the case here. In the end it's an annoyance and little more, but you got some worthwhile feedback on this.
  4. If that's the case, then there have been several missed opportunities with recent thread titles. Some proposed revisions: There's a developing situation with Jackson Holliday. Mike Elias' biggest failure? Michael Kopech could be an Oriole by Memorial Day. The situation is still developing. Jim Bowden has made a semi-rational trade proposal. No word yet on a possible identity theft. ... Fun.
  5. I agree with the write-up, but not the thread title. The O's didn't bring anything to the game worth stealing. Definitely the most unsatisfying game I've seen this year.
  6. The Corbin Burnes trade showed me that Elias is not going to put himself in a position to badly lose a trade. Maybe it's time to stop worrying about the downside to the degree we all seem to.
  7. A while back I took about 15 months off from all social media posting and I recommend everybody do something similar. OH is about 95% of all of it now for me, and life looks a whole lot different - in a good way.
  8. Because MLB has granted all of the umpires collectively specifically enumerated rights in exchange for their labor. Disputes need to follow a mutually agreed on course of action.
  9. Yes but the question is why? The O's haven't shown they could hit 95, or 90... or 85... Why waste good pitches?
  10. All of a sudden the O's aren't getting two inches off the outside edge.
  11. Burnes out of gas. Shame it's turned out this way.
  12. I'm going to be very upset with the O's, if Burnes takes the loss the way he's pitching.
  13. I think he was saying it's possible to torture a metaphor to the point that you can successfully compare traditional thoroughbred breeding methodology to identifying and valuing professional baseball talent. More than anything else in life at this point, I want to be a fly on the wall when Elias and Sig have that conversation about Kjerstad.
