  1. Elias might already have a trade in works. He might have had a few teams agree to preliminary trade parameters for Baumann, then use the 10 days to construct the best small trade through minor negotiations
  2. I actually like this idea. As far as cost. The Mets are covering most of his salary. By the time he came to us, I think we'd be on the hook for about 4 Mil
  3. When Gray Rod comes back, its gonna have to be a Mike Baumann DFA, unless Elias is working the phones for a trade. The Norfolk Shuttle isn't as much a thing now with all these arms without options You'd feel like even Baumann would have to get you a lottery ticket from a team desperate for bullpen help?
  4. Need one of these each game day and we'll never lose again
  5. I'd keep an eye on Scott. If his K's creep back up to 10+ per 9 and BB's back towards 4 or so, he might be worth a look. I don't think the Orioles can afford to trade any upper level pitching guys; they need the depth. The value of Povich is probably not that far away from what a 12K/9 & 3BB/9 LH Flame throw closer gets you. If we had 5 Povich's in the system, it would not be as frowned upon. But Scott is not quite in last year's form just yet, so the Marlins will hold on to him for a minute to see where his value could be in a couple months. Might have to overpay a little to get him now as the Marlins probably feel like his market will heat up closer to the July deadline. Stowers, Norby, and a good low level arm might get conversations started. They might come back asking about Beavers, McDermott, some of the top DSL guys; I don't think it would be a conversation about Lottery tickets
  6. I'm okay if OHearn is in the line up, but not in RF, with this OF depth
  7. Perez and Means coming back soon. Suarez really going to be DFA'd? No way you option Kremer after that last start Could DFA Ramirez or option Tate? Lottery ticket trade coming for a Webb or Baumann?
  8. That's probably just Tony Tates. He's that guy that gives 100% until the moment he doesn't have to anymore and then he goes into straight meander mode. He is a man that will take his time when he can; my guess is he enjoys laying down for a second after the dives and slides if the play is over.
  9. May 1st is a good day to stop and assess where Holliday is. Norby deserves a shot if Holliday continues to falter. He has played 163 Games at AAA with an .864 OPS (.900 this year) I was telling some friends today that if Holliday just shit the bed, and had to struggle up and down from AAA/MLB for 2 years, and then it clicked and he became a force, he'd still only be 22 years old
  10. He's going to have to study how pitchers are attacking him, make adjustments to his approach, and become a better guess hitter in certain counts and/or sequences you recognize.
  11. I wish Ced was 26 years old. I think Cowser fits in our LF really well, and you're right, he's big and gonna get bigger. Hopefully Bradfield or Fabian is ready for CF by 2026, you'd still like veteran presence in CF at that time. Maybe a trade or FA signing happens before then?
  12. If Santander walks in FA, it might be worth looking into a team friendly extension for Ohearn. I'd let the year play out a bit before offering it and see what evaluations on Ohearn say. But for next year, even if Mountcastle remains as the 1B, Ohearn can get enough ABs between DH, 1B, RF, and PH to justify a 3 year 50 Mil extension. You'd have to believe enough in Ohearn to trade a Mayo, Kjerstad, or Basallo though, as those guys are going to demand DH, 1B, and/or RF ABs soon enough. We do need pitching, so someone will have to go at some point in a trade. More players performing, vets or rookies, only gives Elias more options for potential trades.
  13. He's a Free Agent after the 2025 Season. You gotta think someone will be in the mix for the O's in CF by the start of 2026 right? He's definitely the guy in CF this & next season, but in 2026, he'll be 31. Where is his speed and defense by then? Is he still a CF at that point? Not old, but I'm sure that's the age where there might be the first signs of some regression for a CF. The best team friendly deal would be buying out his last year of arbitration on a 2 year deal w/ a 3rd year option. I don't think Mullins would want to sign that deal. I think Mullins as a CF, with his age and durability, might be an overpay if we extend him. Love him, but not sure he's the guy after next season. He's probably going to want at least 4 years 80-100 Mil, and he might become a slightly above average LF w/ a below avg arm that hits 15-20 HRs and steals 15-20 bases at a .730 OPS clip during his age 31-34 seasons.
  14. I see it both ways. I think Irvin and Wells have enough track record to deserve some time to turn it around and give quality starts. Means will make it back at some point, still not sure on Bradish. But beyond Povich at AAA, there isn't much MLB ready pitching coming from the minors. And with guys like "Yohan Ramirez" in our bullpen, its unfortunate that our best bullpen depth is in the starting rotation at the moment. The Orioles have a pitching depth problem. Injuries and under performance can happen, as do new performers that can come out of no where. I know Elias has got to be looking for quality SP and RP options to help create more MLB pitching depth, and possibly a high level impact arm or two to take some immediate stress off the staff.
