  1. The key with Heyman is he's the Boros' mouthpiece. Basically when he says something you have to see who are the Boros clients potentially involved, and how could they do better by whatever information Heyman is putting out.
  2. We need a laugher tomorrow now but we got the win tonight. Fuji may be the closer tomorrow if we need one.
  3. And Bautista is at that "magic" 25 pitch point for relievers. Not good!
  4. Getting behind hitters is not a good way to pitch said Capt Obvious!
  5. At least it only took Bautista 6 pitches to get two outs in the 8th.
  6. I'm thinking he has a date or something and wants to get this game over. I mean, being up two runs, I'm fine with a big strike zone now, but this is a bit nuts.
  7. I'd love to see this umpire's scorecard after this game. He's awful.
  8. Despite Brown's every attempt to announcer jinx Bautista. He got out of the inning unscathed.
  9. Could really use a quick DP to end the inning.
  10. Yikes, Cano can't command anything. Gotta bring in the mountain. This is why Elias needs to get impact relievers.
  11. What in the actual hell happened in this thread about trade rumors around page 90ish? NO POLITICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more warnings. I will suspend posters for any more political talk. We stick to baseball here.
  12. No, he's a corner outfielder of the future here or somewhere else.
  13. Sometimes it certainly makes sense to wait. I can only imagine the stress Elias must be under with the clock ticking and knowing he needs to make some upgrades in pitching.
  14. As low as the Orioles payroll is, yes, I would do that. But I think Cohen would rather eat money and get a real return of prospects.
  15. I think he would too. He can't just give him away as a pure salary dump. The optics would not look good after all the money he spent.
  16. There was a reason the Mets are sellers and it's not because Scherzer and Verlander were at their best. Verlander has pitched well of late, but at 40-uears old, the Mets would have to eat a lot of that contract over the next few years or be willing to take a prospect like Hudson Haskins in return in a salary dump. Then the question is, do any of us think John Angelos, who is making money hand over fist right now, would greenlight trading for a 40-year old pitcher who is owed $43,333,333 next year with a $35,000,000 vested option that kicks in at 140 innings? None of this sounds like the M.O. for this organization or Elias.
  17. I think you are remember how Sammy Stewart was used a bit in 1979 to 1981 a bit. In 1979 he pitched 5 or more innings of relief 7 times out of his 28 games of relief, six times in 30 games of relief in 1980, and seven times in 26 relief outings in his brilliant 1981 season. That's 20 times in 84 games of relief he went that distance or more. By 1983 Stewart threw five or more innings in relief only 2 times in his 58 games. He threw 4 or more 10 times but was mostly used for 2-3 inning stints. Stewart was used 26 times for two or more innings but less than 4 innings. The other 20 innings he threw less than two innings. In 1984 he only had 5 games where he threw 3 or more innings, none over 4 innings. So maybe it's fair to say the 1983-84 Sammy Stewart.
