  1. I only saw that scouting video and his throws were awful. 40 arm might be generous from that video.
  2. Locking this until people discuss the Orioles pick in the right place. I will unlock this in a minute or two.
  3. C'mon guys, this is not teh first time we've done this. Please discuss this pick in his thread.
  4. Guys, as always, please discuss him in his thread not in the general thread!
  5. I'm rooting hard for a pitcher here, but I'm not expecting it.
  6. You should be hoping she knocks it out of the park and they so they hire her away.
  7. Glad Gonzales is off the board. Not a fan of tweaner defensive picks this high without a plus-plus bat.
  8. Who's the top left-handed hitting college outfielder on the board?
  9. Enrique Bradfield Jr. - CF - (Jr) Vanderbilt University Tony's Initial Take: Explosive speed, elite center field defense (range wise), and a quintessential Elias/Ciolek draft pick by going after a college bat.. It appears the Orioles envision Bradford as the Cedric Mullins replacement in CF one day. He's not going to have the pop that Mullins brings on occasion, but the hope is that his defense, ability to get on base and elite speed will make him very important in a future outfield that could slot him in between Colton Cowser and Heston Kjerstad. The only concerns is a well below average arm that could see major league runners take extra bases and tag up more often on him, and the fact that his numbers fell off a bit after a superb sophomore season. Turns 22-years old in December so expect the Orioles to give him the Jud Fabian promotion schedule if he doesn't have any unforeseen issues at the plate. 80 speed, elite defensive CF. https://www.mlb.com/video/2023-draft-enrique-bradfield?t=mlb-draft - Draft video "Kenny Lofton comps" Stats
  10. This Draft tracker will be updated throughout the draft. Each player will get his own draft thread (will be linked to his name here) where posters can discuss and post information on the player. Player will become orange when he signs. 11. Barlow could be a good get as a 3rd reliever with his ability to miss bats. Really weird how hard his below average fastball is getting hit this year, especially when you look and he's actually keeping it out of the middle of the plate. It's almost like he needs to throw that sinker more instead of a 4-seamer to match up with his plus slider and curveball. I'd be willing to send Stowers for him event though I still think Stowers is going to end up a good major league hitter. I don't see Stowers having a role here with Cowser and Kjerstad ahead of him.
  12. Here's their stuff over the the last two years in the big leagues: Cole Irvin Zach Lowther Alex Wells Irvin has been more successful than Lowther because his command was way better, especially the changeup, which is a really important pitch for pitchabaility lefties. Lowther just made too many mistakes in the middle of the plate with his fastball despite showing plus movement on his curveball and slider before his injury. Whatever happened to Lowther after the 2021 season really destroyed his career. Wells just didn't have enough fastball overall to make his other stuff work well enough. His weird little slider, which was almost like a left-handed cutter was actually successful, but it wasn't enough with his lack of other major league pitches. Saying that, I guess he just gave up after being released by the Orioles because I felt like he could have found some success at some point as a long guy. While Irvin's stuff overall is not really that impressive, he's been able to have some success when his command is on but he has very little room for error which is why he's more of a 5th starter type.
  13. I'll update these by Sunday evening. Until the draft I was going to go every two weeks for changes.
  14. Gunnar has the better arm for sure, but they similar with athleticism and quickness. Holliday seems to have a little better hands than Henderson did at the same age. I still need to see more plays where Holliday needs his arm as he moves up, but if he moves to any position it will most likely be to CF or 2B.
  15. Brown has become very prone to homer hyperbole this year. He can be very competent, but it's like someone told him to up the homer angle or he's just so excited to be calling a good team, that he's done it a lot more this year. His worse call of the year was "Ohtani who?" I still think he does a good job overall, but I'm not a big fan of the fanboyish calls on occasion.
  16. I'm thinking the Orioles would like to move Urias for something of value since he doesn't have much of a role on this team right now. Along with Mountcastle, Urias is a guy who doesn't have a ton of trade value right now and probably should have been dealt this offseason.
  17. Yeah, it looked legit even though it went to the Little League porch in RF.
