  1. Awful throw by Adley. That was not on the pitcher whatsoever.
  2. Seems like they are giving up some box office with Friday afternoon games instead of night games, but what do I know about the Cubs fans?
  3. Yep, you're right. The schedule I pulled up was home schedule so it jumped to next week. Weird that the Cubs would have a Friday afternoon game. I thought they did most night games now during the week.
  4. Unless you watch every single game it's hard to get a complete picture without statcast data. Obviously when you scout you can only judge what you see on the plays that player makes on the games you are watching. Obviously arm strength is the easiest to judge but hopefully you get a few tough plays in or side to side to give you a general idea. I typically will go back and watch a fielder's errors to get an idea of what they struggle with and hopefully catch those good plays in the other times.
  5. Certainly could have. I only pulled up his statcast info on a few games this past week when I thought he could be inline for a promotion.
  6. Plus Denoyer has really regressed this year and will probably make it through waivers.
  7. Garrett has really been throwing the ball well in AAA. He pitches around 93-4 but can touch 96 with a nice splitter. I can see him getting a shot. He's earned it.
  8. I'm pretty sure I spoke about him somewhere on here probably when I put him in the top 30 on the Prospect power rankings. His turn around is pretty crazy. I watched several of games last year after the Orioles invited him to spring training and the guy was a complete thrower. I watched him at Bowie a bit and while I would not call him a command guy, he's certainly found something to throw quality strikes. You can't teach 98 MPH and that's what he was sitting one game. I'll go back and watch his 4 strikeout inning but I'm sure it's impressive.
  9. There is no way I would want Odor over Frazier so I'm not even sure how that could be pined for be anybody not related to Odor. I will say what I said on 105.7 this afternoon, I still think Westburg was and is the best option as the everyday 2B. That doesn't mean Frazier hasn't been doing ok, and obviously the power has surprised us all, but if I had my druthers, Westburg would be manning 2B and Frazier would be a utility guy filling in at 2B and corner outfield and providing a contact bat off the bench late in games. It's also worth noting that Frazier's lack of ability to get the ball out of his glove last night in the 9th cost the Orioles a game ending double-play. Little things like that don't always show up in the defensive metrics and for the most part he's been fine at tuning DPs, but he has made a few more mistakes then I was expecting defensively. But I'll take the power that I wasn't expecting over the slight slip in defense. Saying all of that, I'm not sure you mix with a winning formula. the Orioles re clearly winning a lot of games with Frazier at 2B and has contributed in several games with key hits. For all of his limitations, he is a high leverage guy and does a lot of things to help a team win that also doesn't show up in the box scores or stats. Do I still think Westburg would have been the better option this year at 2B? I do. Am I'm concerned that Frazier is the main starter at 2B right now? No I am not. BTW, I think it would be interesting to mic up Frazier during the game and see if he's really always that deadpan/boring or if that is just his interview style?
  10. Mountcastle has underperformed all year so naturally there will be discussion on what to do with that player, especially after they are coming off a down year and have fallen off OPS wise each year he has been in the major leagues. Now perhaps your close to the situation or just a big Mountcastle fan, but I don't see any reason why optioning or trading Mountcastle is such a ludicrous idea. His play has dictated that his role had been already cut into and now the vertigo. hopefully the vertigo is something that is minor and will go away, but for now, he's not going anywhere. As long as O Hearn is hitting at 1B though, it's going to be hard to regain that position full-time without an injury or O'Hearn regressing back to KC mean.
  11. I think that's a fair assessment of his defense at 3B. I think he has a little more mobility side to side than Nevin, but coming in on balls is not his strength. Literally all of the guys you mentioned are better defensive 3B than Mayo, so Mayo may need to learn 1B. Mayo now has a career .898 FLD pct in 175 games at 3B. I think it's fair to have some concerns about him defensively at 3B despite the good arm. I'd like to see him get more time at 1B and even some in RF myself just to get him the experience. He may slow down too much to be affective in RF longterm but he has the arm for it. 1B is his most likely major league position and personally he should start being a priority play there.
  12. Lol on Adam Frazier interviews. Even boring guy go, that's boring.
  13. Game should be over but Frazier can't turn a tailor made DP.
