  1. Mountcastle is like, not only will have a crap approach at the plate, but I'll be a butcher at 1B. Instead of getting off to a great start this inning, now we have a guy on 1st base.
  2. Stowers is not seeing the ball AT ALL.
  3. You're being dumb. Nobody said they were quitters and weren't trying. They needed to get mad. Mad at themselves for sucking. They need to expect to win. They need to do something like they did this inning. Come out and hit a few balls hard. Put some damn runs on the board and get ahead. now Rodriguez needs to come out and shut them down.
  4. Huh, I never said they weren't trying. I said I'm tired of trying, I want to see them win. Giving it a good try is for losers. How about you actually do something to win against a good team? Like that... Rutschman is doing something, not trying!
  5. You have to love the Orioles announcers. It's clear they've been given their propaganda to push. "they're hanging with best teams." Yeah, trying. Give them a "good try" ribbon. Maybe try actually coming out and winning a game. You know, put together a game from start to finish. Maybe have hitters look like they have a plan and maybe get starters that may just actually come out and dominate once in awhile. But hey, the Orioles are competing. F competing. Seems like it's been about a week since the Orioles had a lead.
  6. Rob ignoring the crap out of that women. She wasn't having it at the end!
  7. Every time I hear from people about how smart Elias and company are, I just always remember they are not even close to the Rays and Braves when it comes to drafting and development and actually understanding how to put a major league roster together that can compete with the best teams.
  8. Weird how all these good pitchers are drafted in the low rounds by teams. But don't worry, we'll trade for the Cole Irvin's of the world. I really do Elias decision to not draft pitchers high is going to cost the organization because he has shown no ability to target high level pitching nor use his prospect depth to do so.
  9. Can we all admit, no matter what we think of Mountcastle as a hitter, that he literally has zero plan at the plate?
  10. Rutschman is the least of my concerns. Every player including the best go into slumps.
  11. The more I watch Grayson the more I start getting concerned over the Orioles ability to develop starting pitching. How can he have no feel for a breaking ball still?
  12. Took Grayson 9 pitches to get the first batter out. Took Eflin 9 pitches to retire the side.
  13. Sure would be nice for an Orioles starter to come out and look ready to compete. I don't know what they do to warm their starter's up, but some needs to really look into it because the Orioles starters really don't look ready.
  14. Can't throw either the curveball or slider for strikes so will need to be able to use the change once again.
  15. Rodriguez can't throw a breaking ball for a strike.
  16. Oh well, that is just not in the card's for this team.
  17. Let's try something new and get on the board first in this game!
  18. Oh, I will end on this. I would not be shocked if Elias did claim him or traded for him. Afterall, this is a guy who signed Frazier to $8 million contract, signed Aguilar last year and is carrying 3 catchers for no apparent reason. Elias clearly has his own plan on how to build a roster and the common ways of doing so across baseball is not part of his plan. The Orioles are doing well overall this year so he may get the last laugh, but I continue to have concerns about his roster management and clearly his offseason roster building.
  19. No offense, but if this is your "proof" I'm just going to bow out of this and simply say I disagree. Enjoy your day on the board!
  20. Did the Orioles remake Mateo or was he on a heater this April? Remember, they supposedly worked with him last August and he didn't hit well last September. Sure, players sometimes get better and sure, sometimes that happens with other teams, but nothing of Reyes numbers and struggles against offspeed and breaking balls suggest he will suddenly get better. I'm not arguing that players get better. But I'd imagine the Royals know him better than anyone and they DFA'd him and they're not exactly good. If they thought he could be reworked, why not just send him to the minors to figure it out? I haven't gone and looked at him too closely, because honestly, the organization should be well past these kinds of reclamation projects.
  21. I wish I lived in your world. No wonder you are so positive. You think the Orioles swept the Braves when they lost 2 out of 3. Either way, I agree, this is playoff caliber baseball and the Orioles are now 1 and 3 against these top teams. They have been in each game and that's encouraging, but I think the Orioles were doing so well by their hitters really hitting well against some very poor relief corps of some very bad teams. I still think this team is probably an 85 winish team. The holes Elias did not fill this offseason and ones he filled when he had better players onhand will be higlighted when they play the better teams.
  22. That's all well and good. You can think anyway that you want. But, no one has been able to tell me when the Orioles were able to do this and then trade them for value which so what the OP wanted to do. I don't believe the Orioles have some magic formula that suddenly makes hitters better. If they did, Mountcastle would not be swinging at pitches three feet outside of the zone and have a .270 OBP.
  23. What hitter has the Orioles remade from another organization into a quality bat that they could trade for value? I'm not sure you get analytics when it comes to hitters. It's not like pitchers where you can adjust their pitching shapes or repertoire. Either hitters can hit or they can't. Reyes can't hit offspeed. Pitchers know this so he doesn't get many good fastballs to hit anymore. There is no magic coaching or analytics that's going to remake Reyes into a quality bat that they can trade. And yes, some guys are just done by 27. It happens all the time. Plus, the ROYALS DFA'd him.
  24. I have given up trying to understand Elias' roster management after this offseason, but I'm hopeful the organization is past these kinds of claims. Then again, he's carrying three catchers so never say never.
  25. Lol, I saw he was available and was like, "Oh know, I hope Elias doesn't see his new Jesus Aguilar is available." The answer is a resounding no. This team has no need for a right-handed DH. They're already carrying a 3rd catcher.
