  1. I believe Holliday's timeline for promotion will be solely on how Holliday performs and whether he checks off the metrics they are looking for in High-A. We've seen that this doesn't always mean good statistics as Cowser, Norby and Mayo all received promotions mid-season last year without putting up very good numbers in that tough hitting environment.
  2. This is Facebook level trolling. Please either add to the conversation, or ignore it, but making an obvious troll post is not what we do here and I think you know that.
  3. I was not talking about yesterday's game specifically nor am I saying that's what Hyde did, but there are more nuances to relief pitching moves, and yes, taking a guy out so you have use of him the next day is a valid reason in the right circumstance. I agree with you that Perez doesn't belong in close games right now.
  4. This is a great point and is often overlooked by people complaining about why a guy was pulled when doing well.
  5. He had what we like to call a "Mountcastle day!"
  6. Frazier may not have blazing speed, but he is a very good instinctual runner from what I've observed so far.
  7. Well, I'm not convinced Hyde has a lot to do with his lineups besides being able to adjust if a guy is dinged up or under the weather. They say he has final call on the lineup with input from the "analytics department" but I'm guessing he's not making any waves and going against the grain in any way with Elias/Sig nd the analytics team. Hyde hasn't made it this long as the Orioles manager by voicing concerns over the some times headscratching lineup decisions. This team is not scoring much but luckily, the pitching is on such a heater right now it's glossed over the lineup's issues currently.
  8. I'm going to need more than three weeks of a season to declare anything has changed.
  9. Good question. I think they are across MLB as a whole, but I'm not 100 sure since they come off the baseball savant site.
  10. They don't take many high school players in the draft overall, but they certainly have not done bad with their high school hitting picks. Whether these guys make it or not is still unknown (outside of Gunnar) but they have not totally whiffed on any, and that's tough to do because high school hitters are risky picks for the most part with a high level of complete wash outs.
  11. No idea. I don't think the organization has much to say about the affiliates once an agreement is in place. The Orioles choose vey unwisely keeping Aberdeen instead of Frederick IMHO. I miss Frederick being an affiliate. I wish they would upgrade their stadium and get the Bowie franchise since that ownership is embarrassing and Prince George's stadium is as well now. But saying that, as long as Holliday keeps hitting gap to gap and working pitchers, he should be fine.
  12. Well let's see: OPS: .638 vs .665 (Frazier)WOBA: .307 vs .299 (Gunnar)OOA: -5 (-4 at 3B and -1 at SS) vs -1 Frazier (Frazier) Note: Gunnar has been an unmitigated disaster defensively so far for sure Speed: 79th vs 31st Percentile (Gunnar)wRC+: 96 vs 90 (Gunnar)fWAR: -0.1 vs 0.1 (Frazier)rWAR: -0.1 vs 0.4 (Frazier) Of course when Frazier was 22-years old he was in High-A, so not exactly the same thing.
  13. Since you want to play this game: OPS: .665 WOBA: .299 (.317 MLB avg) OOA: -1 (19th percentile) Speed: (31st Percentile) wRC+: 90 OPS+: 87 fWAR: 0.1 rWAr: 0.4 (How they think being below average in everything equates to 0.4 WAR makes me question rWAR)
  14. Bencosme does not need to be playing SS anyways so Jackson should see 80% of the time at SS at least. Now we'll see how he handles the notorious Sally League where Orioles prospects bats traditionally go on slumber.
  15. I've always believed that you should adjust your lineups with the hot hands at the top. Why the Orioles keep running out an out machine like Mountcastle in the middle of the lineup is beyond me, especially when he's in one of his funks (that he always goes into multiple times a year).
  16. Still a hell of an effort, even if the catch wasn't clean upon review.
  17. Updated thru April 24th. Stiven Acevedo and Chris Vallimont make their 2023 debut on the power rankings.
  18. Just to keep tabs from week to week.
  19. He obviously was struggling to command, but he was hurt by two errors. Why the Orioles keep running out Valdez at 2B is beyond me. Crampton or Servideo should be up there playing 2B. At least the defense will be better for the pitchers.
  20. This is kind of cool. I didn't know they were doing this.
  21. Torkleson is not very good defensively. He has no range and clearly struggles to throw on the run.
  22. Great jump and slide by Mountcastle on that dribbler.
  23. Good Lord the Tigers pitching coach is a giant!
  24. That's ok, we're going to walk this off here in the 9th.
