  1. It was a nice slide to the inside part of the bag when the throw was to the outside. Good baserunning and sliding by McKenna on a pretty good throw.
  2. Gotta also give credit for McKenna getting to 3rd on Mateo's RBI single which allowed Mateo to steal 2nd.
  3. Hey if we could talk about the onfield action instead of the work outs of pitchers in the 80s and 90s that's be great
  4. He had a tough time staying healthy. when he was on, he had major league stuff, but struggled to find the consistency and health to get there. Good luck to the young man in his next career!
  5. I need to see a little bit of pop from Benscome before getting too high on him. He's doing well though and is on the cusp. Gillaspie is a run of the mill middle relieve type and is really on the list because a lack of other options at this point. If you wanna put him over Gillaspie I'd be fine with that. Honestly after 22 the list is pretty much an "ehh". I will say if Benscome keeps hitting .355 he's going to go on.
  6. Left-center 427 ft homer for a left-hander. That is crazy 80 type power.
  7. Glad to heat Caleb is doing some broadcasting. I always thought he would be a natural analyst if he didn't get into coaching.
  8. Yeah, by all accounts he seems like a good young man. He's doing well and moving up the prospect list for sure!
  9. It's a 4th of July treat for everyone! New Power rankings with Rutschman and Bradish (More than 45 days on roster) graduating. Some old new faces back on the prospect list but honestly after about 22 there is not really a player jumping out. Added Anderson De Los Santos back on the watch along with DSL stand out Aron Estrada.
  10. While Hernaiz plays at "20 years old" this season and Henderson plays at "21 years old" due to the cut off being July 1st for playing age for the season, Henderson (June 29th) is only a month and few days older than Hernaiz (August 3) and they were drafted the same year. Saying that, Hernaiz is having himself a nice little year and is starting to show the promise that the Orioles saw when he was drafted in the the 5th round. I'm still not sold on him defensively in the infield though with a below average arm for shortstop and like Law says, he doesn't look comfortable at 2nd base for some reason.
  11. I have to imagine he will get the promotion to Aberdeen for next week. If he hits well there for a three weeks, then I could see a move to AA to finish the season. If he ends up getting 100 PAs of more in AA, I'd say he exceeded everyone's expectations for this season after the hamstring injury.
  12. They have a similar repertoire for sure, but the big difference is command and control in McClanhan's favor. Hall throws a little harder than McClanahan but looking at his statcast info it looks close to what I've seen from Hall. If Hall can coral it more often like he did last night, he could be a similiar pitcher.
  13. Part of the problem with following the minors as closely as people on this board do is they follow every start and sometimes every inning of young men who are still developing and then rising and falling with each start. We all should know that Hall has all of the stuff to be a successful major league pitcher. We all know he's barely pitched above AA until this season. Give him time. He's going to be a guy who will ultimately be very successful in some role in the major leagues. If the Orioles were contenders there could be a push to get him up in an Akin role, but for now, let him keep developing and see if he can get more efficient outs and get deeper into games against AAA hitters.
  14. No idea since MLB treats minor league statcast information like state secrets. It really doesn't matter, he's clearly too good for this level which is a good thing after so long off.
  15. Pulling a Larry Harlow reference in one game thread certainly deserves some rep!
  16. Well, I just mean it's better to be in reality than getting your hopes up and then being disappointed. This year should be a step in the right direction, but they have six teams ahead of them for the last wild card spot and are 6.5 games back before today's loss.
  17. The only thing good about this 4-game losing streak it's a reality check for the fans that thought the Orioles were suddenly contenders for the wild card.
  18. Nah, talent is there. Twins are good and apparently have Lopez's number. Still, can't blow two games in a row. It's a gut punch but luckily, I'm an Orioles fan, I can't be gut punched any more. i expect the worse and I'm glad when it doesn't happen.
  19. When they put him on the 60-day that usually means they are not expecting him back. Maybe Melewski will get some info on him. Ashamed, I liked his stuff a bit.
  20. It's something strange for sure. Would be interesting to know if they tweaked something that has improved the control.
  21. I think that's why he's probably still there though I expect him to get moved to Aberdeen by next Tuesday. He popped a homer yesterday which was a good sign, but a lot of groundball singles. Still, it's hard to nitpick on a guy hitting .433 with a .515 wOBA.
