  1. Watched the game tonight and he's jumped on mostly first pitch fastballs. He did turn around a 97 mph fastball for a single up the middle, so plenty of bat speed.
  2. Tell you what, I feel 100% better with him on the mound than ever with Tanner Scott.
  3. Call me a fan of Perez. I love his energy and of course that slider!
  4. McDonald must have been spoken too by either Jim Hunter or Mike Bordick on how to stick around broadcasting the Orioles. Forget about what really happened. Just make it as home friendly as possible.
  5. Well that was one truly terrible throw by Rutschman!
  6. Pretty crazy that Silseth with an 11th round pick last year and is in the majors now.
  7. I'd be worried about him getting rusty. I'd rather keep him on on regular work and then when he's within 20 innings or whether their computer program spit out, you then use him in relief to finish out the year. Or they could follow the very successful St Louis Model and have him pitch 198 innings the year after his TJ like Adam Wainwright instead of constantly babying these guys.
  8. I never said Hall will be better than Bedard for sure, I just said he has better stuff. The command for Hall will determine his long term role in the big leagues.
  9. I'm not going to tell you guys again to stop with each other. You are both good posters but i will give you both a break if you continue to disrespect each other or take up board space with your back and forth. Last warning.
  10. If the Orioles stick to their babying innings count for him this year, you're right about Wells probably either getting shut down or moved to a reliever by the end of the year. They are going to need those two along with probably Harvey and the new guy.
  11. It's been a few years, but Bedard's pitch was certainly a sweeping breaking ball. Without statcast data it could be up to interpretation as to whether it was a curve or slider, but I remember slider movement. His fastball was mostly 91-94, which I guess for a lefty you can call plus. Again, i wasn't taking swipes at Bedard who was very good before the injuries derailed his career, was more talking about how could Hall's stuff is. Bedard had better command though.
  12. He really was quite the immature jerk. Good pitcher though but the Orioles cashed him in at the exact right time.
  13. Hall has way more talent than Bedard which is not a swipe at Bedard. Bedard had a plus plus slider that he did most of his damage with while Hall brings four pitches including a plus-plus changeup paired with a plus-plus fastball. Both of his breaking balls are average and flash plus at times. It's never been any question on the stuff. I've never really seen this kind of stuff in the minors, not from anyone.
  14. I wanna give a shout out to that Jacksonville Announcer Scott Kornberg. First off, he's a fantastic game caller, but he told interesting stories, had background on the Tides players as well his own, and was clearly getting excited watching something pretty special even though it wasn't his team. This guy needs to be in the majors. He's fantastic.
  15. Well we just heard a first.. The First time McDonald described a slider without talking about the blue dot.
  16. Yeah, that's the old school information like what happened to Bundy in High School. When I was coaching High School in 2014 we had limits.
  17. Five pitch lefty who was a starter mostly up until this season. I imagine the Orioles will try and teach him the changeup they've been teaching and see if they can get him to help out. Just glancing at his stuff, he's pretty close to Bruce Zimmermann though Zimmermann has a better changeup.
  18. Let's stay on subject here. Nice to see the National press give Henderson some props. He's in a little bit of a strikeout slump of late so let's see him turn that around a bit.
  19. Wow, now that's the kind of outing that makes you think he's ready. Got through six innings on 98 pitches while striking out 14. I'm going to go home and watch this game for fun!
  20. I'm not sure that happens any more. There are rules in High School in MD for the number of pitches they can throw in a week, so I imagine that's the same around the country.
  21. I seriously doubt we see Rodriguez this year for anything other than maybe a few appearances in September at best,
