  1. New for 2021 is our Prospect Power Rankings. Think of these rankings like an unofficial prospect rankings that will be adjusted throughout the year. To be eligible for the rankings, a player must still be considered a rookie by MLB standards and assigned to a minor league team. Players placed on injured lists are eligible once they have played in 2021. Orioles Prospect Power Rankings (as of September 6th) Last one until final Prospect List. 3. Just judging by the fact he hasn't really had any baseball activity since arriving tells me he is a long way from being in baseball shape.
  4. Nobody said it was unheard of. There are exceptions to every rule.
  5. Sorry, just saw this. If you go to https://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/index.php?/store/ you can select plus membership from there. Thanks for your support.
  6. If Gunnar plays 2B I'd be utterly shocked. Henderson is 6-2, 210 at 20 years old. He's not going to get lighter. At 6-4, 220 pounds, Carlos Correia is about the only top MLB shortstop that would weigh about where I would expect Henderson to play and Trevor Story is about the same size and weight as Henderson is now (If BB ref is correct), but he's 28. Sure I'd run him out there at times this year but once it's been pretty well established that his best position will be at 3B, they need to put him there permanently. sure, Manny went to 3B from SS and became a GG third baseman right off the bat, but there are few Manny Machado's out there.
  7. It makes some sense to get them all some time there, but at the same time, they really need to make some evaluations based on practice and decide who really has the best chance to stick there. Henderson is going to be BIG. While he's athletic, I just think he's ultimately going to out grow SS and if they think that, then they need to play him at 3B so he can get as much experience as possible there. If Hernaiz's arm strength is not up to par (I haven't seen for myself yet) then he needs to be at 2B. I had heard there was some thought of trying Servideo in center field as well. Guess having so many SS is a good thing if they can play other positions but they are going to have to be careful about spreading them too thin and not getting them enough reps to become really good at a position.
  8. This is why I don't think he has depth necessarily. He's the only 1B in the organization right now (unless Henderson for some reason ends up there and no, I don't think he will end up there, but just trying to think of a big guy who would work there) outside of Mancini. 1B is going to end up his position at the major league level as I just don't see him ever becoming a decent outfielder.
  9. Jammer and Janvin are definitely two guys I expected at Delmarva so it does make you wonder. Hard to get info out of there this year with the press limitations and Blood's lack of interest in giving out injury news.
  10. The move to the outfield seems to be a last resort kind of thing since he was very inconsistent at 3B. He has those tools of raw power and bat speed, but I agree, his profile right now is Jomar Reyes unless he comes out looking like a different guy this year.
  11. Hernaiz is, but I heard his arm makes him more of a 2B prospect in this current group. We'll see when the season starts but I would not be surprised with him playing a lot of 2B.
  12. Carmona just isn't very good. His tools aren't that great and he just had very little strength.
  13. Who is the depth at 1B or do you think the Orioles are going to give Mancini a long term contract?
  14. Overall I think Hyde does a good job. His answers to the press have gotten more clichéd after his first year when he was more willing to tell it like he saw the situation. I enjoyed his candor that first year but the closest he's gotten to talking about a player's mistake was when Mountcastle got thrown out at third the other day after getting a bad read. But he still through in there that he liked his aggressiveness even though he had a bad read and ran against a guy with a gun center field.
  15. I agree. The player shook off the trainers and was not acting weird other than moving his jaw around. Stewart wasn't wobbly or showing any signs of needing to come out. I'm sure he was quickly evaluated by the trainers when it got into the dugout but every time a players collides with something does not mean they need to be checked for concussions, which by the way, can only be assessed by a series or questions of a test for cognitive abilities. It's not like an xray shows anything.
  16. Just because you hit your face or your head does not mean you have a concussion. While Stewart was messing with his jaw, its not like he looked spacey out there. I'll defer to the judgment of the trainers who have the best understanding of the situation.
  17. Heard he pitched very bad this spring and leadership was not a fan of him. Good arm though, but lack of command was a big issue. Someone will give him another chance.
  18. They started to transition him in 2019. He doesn't have the plus arm strength that you want in an everyday SS and has a chance to be plus defender at 2B.
  19. Well, he does work in the scouting department so he very well could have been, but I haven't chatted with him in awhile.

  23. Sometimes you need that backup middle infielder that can just fill in when needed but is not a priority play.
  24. Well, I think they may all see time at SS. Ortiz needs some SS time as well and I think they think he's more ready for Aberdeen. One of the thing of drafting SS is finding other places to play while also giving them SS time. I heard Westburg and or Servideo could get some outfield time as well.
  25. Wow, really surprised about Zach Muckenhirn. Wonder if it was something off the field because he has a good arm.
