  1. Yes, ridiculous. You said he got much less hype than Gausman. If you said, less hype, it wouldn't have been a ridiculous comment. I would have mildly disagreed with you. But you said much less - making it a ridiculous comment.
  2. I'm not going to look at how every organization ranked him at what particular time, but... You are correct that Bundy got more hype, and you're wrong that Gausman got more hype than Harvey. If anything, Harvey got more hype than Gausman. To say he got much less hype than Gausman is ridiculous.
  3. I like that plan - though 10 games in Frederick might make more sense - no need to rush there. 2019 is a great goal for the bigs, and I think it'll coincide well with a lot of other young O's. Him getting in some good innings this year is a huge plus and creates a lot of optimism.
  4. In the battle of Harvey vs Harvey, Harvey did a little better than Harvey. They were both outstanding. Are Hunter and Matt related?
  5. Lol, everyone get out of the way, cuz Corn is on a roll.
  6. Joey's made every play in RF. Gentry has been useful, but you shake a AAAA tree, and a dozen Gentry's fall off. I doubt anyone claims him, and he's very easy to replace. And I'm saying that as someone who appreciates him more than most do.
  7. Fact is - picking Santander... in the second round of Rule 5... and how they've used him was a great move by Duquette and made a lot of organizations look foolish for not picking him before the O's.
  8. And Tavares is 25 years old - he's like a poor man's Mullins.
  9. AIC was part of the 90's Seattle "grunge" movement. Yeah, Would and Rooster are great songs, imo.
  10. If you can get past the lyrics being negative, they were a great band.
  11. "Man(ny) in the Box" by Alice In Chains.

    Gray Fenter

I know a bunch of folks were high on Fenter, and that's 2 straight outstanding outings. These are truly the better shades of Gray.
  13. I thought Beckham would go for a double on the hit off the wall, but he showed discipline by staying on 1B. It got to the RFer so quickly that he likely would have been out. And what a play he made to end the game.
  14. And Buck made a point of saying that shouldn't have happened, and he was very upset about it. I expect that Tejada will be sent down at some point this month.
  15. Interesting - Buck implies they're happy with his slider, and they still have hope he'll master the changeup. No curveball?
  16. And Castro looks like he's found his niche in the pen.
  17. Fair enough. I'm doubtful that either of them will ever have enough command and control to be more than 1 or 2 inning pitchers in the majors.
  18. Yeah, I hate to say it when he put up good stats, but that kind of performance won't work in the majors. He's still got a long way to go with his control.
  19. 2,000 will be a great accomplishment for Nick. I guess the question is - Will his lack of power prevent teams from being interested in signing him and using him as a starter. I just don't see a team going with a RFer at his age with that little power and speed. But Nick works hard on every at bat, and plays RF nearly flawlessly within his limitations.
  20. Meh, he raised his ERA... from 0.63 to 0.93. 25 K's vs 2 walks on the season. Yeah, it's just possible the O's got a pretty decent player here.
  21. Even if they don't end up as starters, will this strategy end up hurting them?
  22. There's an article in today's Sun http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/blog/bs-sp-orioles-pitching-development-0721-story.html on the O's working on Scott and Liranzo to be starters - given the organization's obvious derth in starters. And they're considering doing the same with Castro next Spring. It's about 2 steps: 1 is each of them developing a 3rd pitch, and 2 is stretching out their arms so they can eventually go 5 plus innings. Scott is now a 4 inning pitcher and working on that slider. Liranzo's had 6 starts, and the O's seem happy with his improvement - after he disappointed as a reliever. Gotta give the O's credit for thinking outside the box on these talented arms.
  23. O's run differential for the season: -65. Yankees: +103. Yankees are ahead of the O's by just 3.5 games.
  24. Here's an article from the Sun discussing how the O's are developing Scott and speculating on how they'll continue to use him. It covers a lot of what we've already discussed here. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/blog/bal-orioles-prospect-tanner-scott-finding-benefits-in-unique-schedule-at-double-a-bowie-20170628-story.html
  25. And I'm guessing the preconceived notions of a lot of scouts that haven't followed him the last couple of months is he's a 1 pitch pitcher. That was my preconceived notion until reading the posts about him this year on Orioles Hangout.
