Even if we hang on. Gotta think he’s gone.
For who? Ain't like Norfolk pitching is tearing it up.

1. Will we score any more?
2. Will 7 runs be enough?

We resign Tony Kenp!!!

Let's seeeeee. I'm gonna guess that it's a pretty standard lineup vs RHP today after the off-day.
Gunnar - SS
Adley - C
O'Hearn - DH
Taters - RF
Mounty - 1B
Mullins - CF
Cowser - LF
Westburg - 3B
Holliday - 2B
I like it. Tomorrow will be the intersting one.

A reasonable opening day projection for the Orioles was probably 92ish wins, or about 44 WAR. Starting 12-6 you could reasonably assume that their EOY projection is something like 93 or 94 wins.
Baseball reference says the team WAR is currently 6.2. So that would work out to something in the neighborhood of 40 for the rest of the schedule.
Thanks. I think my math is off somewhere.

https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/war?lg=&teamid=2
If I use this site and do some simple addition and subtraction, I get 6.9WAR for this season so far, which projects to 62.1 WAR for the season. A 0.0 WAR (a replacement team) would win 52 games. This puts on on pace for 114 wins. Hope that math is correct.

So, what's our total team WAR now and what does it project to?
-
After this performance, any chance that he will pass through waivers?
-
Hays pinch hitting for Cowser? What were you thinking, Hyde? Seriously, did you think Hays had a better chance of a hit than Cowser? Oh, and now you don't have Cowser the rest of the game.

Only a half game out

Oh right. Can’t believe I forgot about that. Brain fart.
not sure who the long guy will be for tomorrow. Kind of weird that Baumann was burned today.
I was asking because if tomorrow's starter doesn't last long, who can eat innings?

Do we have to DFA Banuelos to bring up a pitcher?

Interesting thing that was said tonight on the broadcast was that Holliday told them the strike zone was different in AAA due to robot umps.

Who's our long man in the pen?

Sure, but there aren't FAs during the season. Gotta give up players now.
Thankfully, we have alot of those

Hoping the 'Wells as a Starter' idea is over. Whenever he heals up, leave him in the pen. Really, really needed another starter this off season.
During this season

Where is he rehabbing again? AA?

Why would he be a better leadoff man than Gunnar?
How's Gunnar doing in that spot? Mullins has done well there in the past.

Mullins for leadoff again!!

Rough night for Cowser

Right now, I would be calling every team that might be willing to trade pitching, starters or relievers. This is the year to go for it. I am offering any of those in AAA or some of our MLB players that are blocking them or are going to be leaving soon anyway (Santander, Hays, Urias, Mateo), depending on what the return is.
Not related to this, but the other thing that I would do as GM right now it trying my best to get Burnes to sign and extension and then extend our young stars.

I'm pretty close to handing the leadoff spot back to Mullins, who is now up to .261/.327/.500.
I'd like to see something like:
Mullins - CF
Gunnar - SS
Adley - C
O'Hearn - DH
Mountcastle - 1B
Cowser - RF
Westburg - 3B
Hays - LF
Holliday - 2B
Hays really only playing because Tony needs a break.Yeah, I want to put him back up there too. I just wish he and Mateo would show bunt at least once every game they play. Make the defense think about, probably come in or shift around so it potentially opens holes for base hits.

I felt this way last year during his slow start. We all know how that turned out.
I think I remember hearing something last year that he thrives in the hot weather/hates the cold. It’ll be above 70 today and it’ll be getting consistently much warmer than that soon, so hopefully his bat heats up accordingly.
How was he once it cooled off last fall, in September and October?
Saturday is Burnes Day vs the Royals
