I have no idea how he will do it. But I trust him to do it. This organization was on life support in 2018. Elias and his team not only brought it back to life but transformed it into a healthy vibrant system.

Elias significantly strengthened the position prospect pool. I'm trusting him to do the same with the pitching pool.

I agree with everything you said except for the last sentence, or at least the word "convinced". I would modify that for my own belief by saying "I'm hopeful that his second half is more representative than the first half. And it will translate into being a quality hitter at the major league level."

I am still skeptical about Ortiz. He had a monster second half at the plate but a turd of a first half. I would love to plug a solid-hitting SS with premium defense in the lineup. But the risk is that he will struggle at the plate and the O's might not have a plan B.

Technically, with Gunnar's eligibility, that would be a rookie 3B-SS-2B combo. In that scenario, what do you think Elias does with Urias? Make him the utility infielder or trade him?

Crazy... the Astros have been in 4 of the last 6 World Series (cheaters or not). Just an epic run. I'll be happy if the O's take the next step and reach the playoffs 4 of the next 6 years. I'll be ecstatic, even cathartic, if the O's win a World Series in the next 6 years.

If Elias manages to acquire 1or 2 solid starters, I don't think he has a place in the starting rotation unless he has a lights out spring and one of the other candidates falters or gets traded. Thanks MD. I would think that zero options definitely impacts the calculus. I'm guessing that if Voth is tendered a contract, and the O's really want to upgrade their rotation by acquiring 2 starters, then he would be put into a long man spot starter role. And ready to step in to the rotation in case of injury. And I think Bradish has 2 options remaining and Kremer has 1 (and GRod will have 3), so Voth could also step in if they falter.

This. He was out, and now he's back. I'm thankful that he is healthy and can pursue what he wants to pursue.
