  1. Oh man... that totally pouts it into perspective.
  2. Full disclosure and groundwork for this thread. I was born in 1967. That means that I clearly didn't witness the O's beating the Dodgers in '66, I was only 2 when the Mets beat us in '69, 3 when the O's beat the Reds, 4 when the Pirates came back from 3-1 in 1971. I obviously have no memory of those series. But I do remember the crushing collapse against the Pirates in '79, and the O's winning it all against the Phillies in '83. Here's the thing... my parents were fans through every single one of those seasons, and instilled in me all of the highs and lows of every single World Series win and defeat. I look at the Dodgers and think, yeah, you basically print money, but we swept you hosers in '66. I look at the Reds and say "Big Red machine my #%&". The Phillies are pretty much our baseball b*$#%s IMO. And to this day I cannot listen to "We are Family", and I revel in every single defeat of the Pirates. Question... Are you at all like me in the way that I view all of those opponents?
  3. I"m not a meteorologist, nor do I play one on TV
  4. I think RH pitchers learned to throw him high heat away that he couldn't barrel, then threw back foot curves/sliders that he couldn't anticipate.
  5. I feel like I'm trapped in some weird zinger triangle.
  6. you know what they say about blind squirrels and their nuts.
  7. These are the kinds of showers that just pop up and the system moves slowly. I'm guessing 9 pm start.
  8. I actually like the idea, but you'd either have to make the dugouts bigger or block off prime box seats like they do in European football
  9. If that was the criteria, I'd be ignored by 95% of the posters on the HO
  10. You're just jealous of how HO stalkable I am
  11. Are you Hangout stalking me? I still think it's a problem. Not sure if that is the reason he struggled, but it sure didn't help.
  12. I agree. First time I really noticed this was Arthur Rhodes. Heck add in Jose Mesa and Zack Britton.

I can't see the O's doing that unless Urias' arms fall off.
  14. How long before a "MOO" and a "BOO" are indistinguishable?
  15. Don't forget Cowser's awful throw from LF to home. An on target throw and Volpe is out by a good bit and Bradish is out of the inning.
  16. 2-0 game and we get Ramirez. Soto must be salivating.
  17. It's a Zack Britton sinker and Gregg Olson curve.
  18. He's in for Gunnar and Adley most of all.
  19. I think it all depends on who gets injured/traded/DFA'd
  20. Don't misunderstand me. My mom instilled on me a complete disdain for the Yankees back in the 70s. Can't tell you how many times I heard her yell at her radio "$%^& Munson!" (Or insert Guidry, Jackson, Nettles, Gossage, Chambliss). She did the same all the way through her passing in 2005. The players' names changed, but the vitriol and venom were the same. It's just not the same with this Yankees lineup. How do you yell at Volpe, Cabrera and Grisham in the same way you did at Giambi, ARod and Jeter?
  21. What I mean is... this is not the Yankees who spend the most money for free agents, who spend the most money to retain players. Look at the lineup tonight. Only Soto and Rizzo are FAs, but everyone else is a homegrown talent. The Yankees have to be pocketing millions and millions of profit right now, don't they?
  22. This is still the Evil Empire But this is not the Evil Empire we all grew to hate in the 70s, 80s, 90s and into the 21st century
  23. Perhaps... but if he is an actual 5th starter, with Burnes, GRod, Bradish, Means all effective... it turns this rotation into a dangerous WS contender. Yes?
  24. We "need" one of them to be ready right? Makes the deadline dealing a lot easier?
