  1. Another observation from those highlights. Mayo punishes low velocity, especially breaking balls and changeups. But the highest velocity fastball I saw was 94 mph. Is there any evidence that he also has success against higher velocity?
  2. The one at 0:30 seconds... So far past the bleachers. The spectators struggling to climb the hill to retrieve the ball. Classic.
  3. It's revealing that the Terps are 4 games in and nobody has started a thread for the 2023-24 season. This team is already 1-3 and appears to be headed for a really rough road. They've now lost 3 in a row after laying a big turd against Villanova. Very disappointing.
  4. I have a feeling Mayo is a candidate to hit the longest HR ever at Camden Yards.
  5. Just hit the ball hard. Good things will happen
  6. I think Norby will have a great Spring and maybe even get a call up... for a different organization.
  7. Gunnar is going to hesh up, put his head down and run out to whichever Hyde writes him into the lineup.
  8. We all have lives. I have a FT job, also studying for the Series 66 exam (after passing the SIE and the Series 7), while also playing in 3 bands. All while being 5 months into a new marriage. There is only so much time to spend.
  9. Not all of us spend all day tuned into this board. Cut us some slack
  10. All I got from CBS sports... " The benefit to the Orioles also comes from a provision that is new to the CBA. Henderson's ROY win means that the team will qualify for a Prospect Promotion incentive draft pick in next year's draft." No clue where that pick slots.
  11. Well... if he follows suit that would be the outcome!
  12. Now... how about matching Cal and winning MVP next year.
  13. If the O's are going to continue to pinch pennies, that draft pick is really valuable, yes?
  14. "We were active bidders on multiple FAs. But apparently they weren't interested in fewer years and less dollars."
  15. Elias' drafting was intentional, showing that he felt the value was in positional prospects instead of pitching. It might be that in the next 5 years he flips the script. Who knows? I love the talent in the system, but I'm hoping we eventually see 3-4 pitchers in top 100 lists.
  16. For me it all comes back to pitching. So far in Elias' tenure, he hasn't seemed to stock the system with top notch arms. Maybe the international market can be a place where he over allocates to pitching, because it doesn't seem like the draft is his preferred place.
  17. I think I would be on board... IF I thought Cowser could bring back more in a trade. I just have this feeling Coswer is going to turn into Kyle Tucker.
  18. Nothing is crazy if it has merit. What's your thinking?
  19. I'd start with Beavers and Norby... and let them counter.
  20. and who might those players be if they WERE available?
  21. I seem to remember you saying last summer that Mayo should be untouchable. Without me looking that up and verifying, do you still feel that way? And who would be worth adding Mayo to a trade package?
