  1. Well, I guess the O's will have to stand up for the AL East.
  2. Thanks for a great detailed report @Frobby. I'm not sure I understand how the stats for Rutschman and McCann warrant identical B- grades. Sure... Adley missed high expectations and McCann was better than last year's backups, but for me their "test scores" would not each receive the same grade.
  3. Find a TOR starter and a backend BP pitcher, either through free agency or trades.
  4. He hit 20 HR and 57 RBI in about 300 PAs. That isn't fantastic?
  5. Anything that gets Mayo on the roster sounds great to me.
  6. I like that O'Hearn can play 1B and also can be an option in the corner OF.
  7. These are the players I would suggest moving on from Urias and Mateo - Westburg and Ortiz can cover everything those 2 did. McKenna and Hicks - Cowser and Kjerstad take over their roles I'm also thinking that Mayo will have his chance to cover for any Mountcastle injury at some point in 2024.
  8. Stowers put up fantastic numbers this season. Here's what I'm thinking. If the top prospects in the system were staggered a little more among AAA/AA/A, not to mention having 3 solid OFs in Hays/Mullins/Santander, there would be less likelihood of dismissing a guy like Stowers. It's like 100 cars all arriving at a single toll booth at once instead of being spread out over miles.
  9. Looking at the Tides lineup in the AAA championship game. It's just crazy seeing the 2023 minor league OPS for those hitters. Holliday, Cowser, Norby, Mayo, Ortiz, Stowers all put up solid to premium numbers this year. Add in Kjerstad as well. I don't ever recall a AAA lineup with that dangerous of a lineup.
  10. Cowser's grand slam was absolutely crushed. Norby's didn't go as far, but he certainly blistered his HR too.
  11. They have the worst record of any AL playoff team. We have the best. How is it that the #1 record doesn't have a chance to play the #6 record until the ALCS? I understand that MLB wants to reward division winners. But there is a potential argument for seeding teams isn't there?
  12. I think it's absurd that the O's have the best record in the AL, and somehow wouldn't have to face MIN until the ALCS. Give me Texas please. The Rays bullpen is nasty, and I don't want another series like the KC sweep.
  13. My waistline and bathroom scale must be in the control group. Who was the Orioles player who they said ran until he scored or was tagged out? Was that Luis Mercedes?
  14. This is the first day in like 25 years that I didn't even think about watching an O's game.
  15. I actually think the perfect fit would be Mayo at 1B.
  16. Are we just bumping all of the old Elias threads?
  17. Oh I'm serious. Maybe it's just the eyeball test. Or maybe I'm just not observant of the stats.
