  1. If you can't remove the pitcher until he's faced three hitters, than the offense shouldn't be able to pinch hit for the second and third hitters he has to face. At least that would provide some balance.
  2. I expect we will see an epidemic of left specialists experiencing minor arm soreness and needing to be removed from a game.
  3. The GM meetings started yesterday and run through Thursday. By then he should have a pretty good idea of who, if anyone, is interested and under what circumstances..
  4. I quoted the wrong comment. Wasn't meant as a criticism of Akin, but to point out the value of the role i described.
  5. I didn't read where weams said Akin would start the season in the majors.
  6. Throwing the innings that allow the team to not rush the more highly rated prospects is an important job. Any success achieved is a plus. Besides, today's poor starter is often tomorrow's valuable middle reliever.
  7. Might be better long term for the O's to ascend after the Ravens peak.
  8. I think Villar will be non-tendered if he is not traded by December 1. Maybe they'll find someone they can work a Jim Johnson-like deal with, or maybe they'll get back a legit prospect by paying part of Villar's salary.
  9. Hoping Chris Davis is next to go to KBO.
  10. Rep for a photo with Billy Hunter.
  11. How about we sell Cavis's contract to a Japanese or Korean team, pay half his contract and let them return him after three months if they aren't satisfied. Davis would have to agree, but maybe he would, as it might give him a chance to be a star again. Even if we had to pay 3/4 of the contract, at least he wouldn't be on the roster and we wouldn't have to look at him anymore.
  12. Gus Triandos vs. Dick Stuart - As far as I know, Triandos was the only Oriole to appear on the show (while with the Orioles).
  13. Oh, I wasn't even thinking about their career arcs, just their skillsets and approach to the game. I don't see how players can be comped for results before they create them. I could be misremembering this, but didn't Finley hurt his shoulder leaping for a ball at the wall in his first game as an Oriole and miss a few weeks? The way Finley played with reckless abandon, and speed, and a plus arm while putting up good offensive numbers. That's how I thought they were comparable.
  14. I was asking. Why do you have such a strong reaction?
  15. Any team considering signing Encarnacion should trade for Mancini instead.
  16. The best time to move Trey is as soon as they get a good offer for him. Davis is an extra body. He has nothing to do with it.
  17. If he gets less that will make him even more valuable to a team looking for affordable right-handed power under team control for a few more years. Even the Rays might be interested, and they have a lot of MI prospects.
  18. Okay, don't even consider the money. Just do it to bring in a player who will likely be more valuable to the rebuild.
  19. I'm hoping Diaz puts it together and makes it a Top 5. Probably a long shot, but we'll just have to wait and see.
  20. Trade Trey for an infield prospect. No sense paying him close to $6 million on a team that will lose 100 games. By the time we're ready to content he'll be either too old or too expensive. Get what you can now.
  21. Inflation. Includes inflated expectations.
  22. Eric Davis was the best Davis.
