  1. Our batters were snoozing last night. Hopefully they shine in the DH this afternoon. The Marlins bullpen should be exposed at some point today.
  2. MLB.tv shows the game as “delayed.” Anyone know what’s up?
  3. Orval Overall. Man, what a great name! I might need to form a new band just to use that as a stage name.
  4. The feed from Fenway today sounded like cicadas... A lot of the other games around the league have sounded more natural to me.
  5. I listened to the radio call Saturday, while doing home improvement work. I enjoyed Brown and Arnold quite a bit. Are they Miller and Angel? No, but nobody else is. I watched the MASN feed today. Sure am going to miss Gary Thorne this season. Hopefully he’s back in 2021.
  6. Used to be for Friday night. Anybody know what’s up? Maybe they’re just traveling light?
  7. I “taped” that game due to work. Turned it on when I got home, and thought, “Wow! That was masterful!” Kept the tape for years, and watched it at least a half dozen times. (I wouldn’t be surprised to find out I still have the tape somewhere. Wonder how I would play it?). One for the ages!
  8. He's a radio announcer for Texas Longhorns sports. I think of 1989 every time I hear him work. Ugh.
  9. Infield: Davis Alberto Iglesias Ruiz Nunez Rondon Outfield: Hays Mancini Santander Smith Mason Williams Catcher: Severino Sysco Pitchers: LeBlanc Cobb Means Wojo Milone Bailey Hess Bleier Scott Givens Castro Fry Harvey I don’t see them signing more pitching at this point.
  10. I'd like to see them take a flyer on Josh Collmenter. He's been out of the majors for a couple years, but has looked pretty good pitching for the Auckland Tuatara in the Australian Baseball League. He'll be 34 going into the 2020 season.
  11. I can't see them paying Villar that kind of dough. Looks to me like Richie Martin is the favorite to open the season at SS. I like Villar, and appreciate his energy and talent, but I can't see them paying that much on a team that's not expected to win.
  12. Put him on the 10 IL with a hangnail, then a rehab with whichever affiliate is playing close to home?
  13. Three triples, plus Alberto’s glove work equaled a very exciting game!
  14. I know I lasted through the Rivals.com era!
  15. Tony, Drungo, Frobby, Roy, and now Luke. I've been hanging around here since I put a computer in my house in 1998. I don't post that often, because I'm not any sort of analyst, and I have no special baseball knowledge. But I learn an awful lot by reading these boards every day. Every day. Long live the OH! (Like the OH in the national anthem!) Thanks, Tony!
  16. I’m not the best researcher, but i can't seem to find the length of contract for Mike Elias. Do we know how long the commitment lasts? Thanks!
  17. Schoop redeeming himself for the Brewers tonight, with two hits, and an RBI and a run scored.
  18. I'll bet you 5 pounds of fine Texas brisket vs five dozen jumbo male crabs (assuming you live in Maryland) that Alex Cobb finishes the season with an ERA below 4.50
  19. There is no way Wade could pretend to be this guy: https://www.thrillist.com/vice/how-much-beer-could-andre-the-giant-drink
  20. This is one to build off of. I'd love to see him win four in a row!
  21. If they released him, they are on the hook for his salary. Any team signing him would only be on the hook for the pro-rated MLB minimum. Is that not correct?
  22. ..after trying to return as a knuckleballer. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/03/minor-mlb-transactions-33016.html Talk about a fringe player with great stories! http://grantland.com/the-triangle/2015-mlb-dan-johnson-st-louis-cardinals-great-pumpkin/
