  1. I think they said a strained pectoral. Getting an MRI.
  2. Plays 6 innings and doesn't have one ball hit to him. McKenna comes in and the first ball is a flyout to center. You can't make this up.
  3. We see it. Along with the rest of his career.
  4. If he could hit, he'd be a starter. That's why he's a backup. He offers speed and late inning defense. There's a place for that, even if I'd hope for better.
  5. Local stations give sports 2-3 minutes to cover all local and national sports. Don’t expect what I would consider “good” coverage from any of them.
  6. Ultimately, the course of treatment is entirely up to Bradish. The Orioles can’t force him to undergo TJ if he doesn’t want to.
  7. Elias has specifically said that Mayo would get time in right field this year. He may not have played there yet but it is clearly in their plans to get him some reps there this year. It can't hurt and helps to get Holliday, Henderson, Westburg and Mayo all on the field together. If Basallo is good at 1B, then all of those four, Basallo and Rutschman are regulars and not time shares.
  8. Also, with the option year, it's considered a multi year deal and can't be used as a comparison in future arbitration hearings. It's an exception to the file and trial stand by teams.
  9. Based on Elias' earlier comments, they want to see Mayo in right field. They're not going to have him playing right field at the ML level without ever having had a chance to do some work there at Norfolk. I believe he's starting at AAA but will have a real chance to move up during the season, whether at 3B or RF.
  10. Mayo will get time in right field this year. A move would help settle things in the infield and create a path to Gunnar, Jackson, and Jordan having regular positions in the infield no matter how the exact spots shake out.
  11. I actually admired him for taking that stand and refusing to field a scab team during the strike. Those issues were a matter of principle for him. Refusing to play in a corrupt international market certainly hurt the team's ability to develop talent, but MLB profited from an immoral practice, IMO.
  12. I find it incredibly amusing that a politician is complaining about Angelos lying. The State got fairly ironclad 15 year agreement with the Orioles (the same 15 years that the Ravens signed for). Clearly, they are not going to give up development rights now, unless Rubenstein wants to pursue that, but who cares? Politicians are only happy when they get to see their names in the papers. Especially ones in an obscure position like State Treasurer. Most people have no clue what the Comptroller or Treasurer do.
  13. I believe the hearings started today, although I don't know when any Orioles players were scheduled. Also, it's been reported that Perez would be a free agent after 2024. So this looks in the O's ability to keep him through his last arb year (2024) and his first year of free agency. Unusual, but at 34, and given his situation in Baltimore, he was amendable to making such a deal.
