I'd like to see Basallo at Catcher.
That bat at catcher is a potential MVP candidate.
What do you do with Rutschman?
-
I’d like to see Mayo in RF and Basallo at 1B.

10-0 Tides after a half inning. Let's see how many we give back in the bottom of the 1st. LOL
And of course they're tied 10-10.

Now on to the statement about the Dodgers, that was a mistake that they quickly corrected.
This year, Gavin Lux, Chris Taylor, and James Outman are all getting starts and sucking?
No team had 26 stars on their roster. Every players goes through bad parts of a season, sometimes at the start.

1983 = over 40 years ago under a totally different structure/era of baseball.
Surely there have to be more recent, relevant examples?
The 1983 Champs are the most recent and relevant Orioles team.
But since you asked, Miguel Rojas and David Peralta both started for the 2023 Dodgers. Both had sub .300 OBPs and no power. I think the Dodgers had World Series aspirations. Recent and relevant enough?

Neither is good enough to start on a team with World Series aspirations.
Todd Cruz, Leo Hernandez, Lenn Sakata, Benny Ayala…

When I see them throttling up with both hands it makes me crazy. Throttle right hand, clutch left hand. Learn to ride your bikes properly guys!

Since he didn't start on the roster they have already given up the possibility of the bonus ROY pick. So if they call him up and he ends up top two ROY, that only works against the O's and we lose a year of his service time.
I don't know the exact date, but it's usually a few weeks before we get the extra year, but only if he doesn't finish in the top two. So if it is purely about service time, the safest thing to do really is to wait until after July to really reduce the chance that he is close in ROY.
Please. If you keep feeding him, he'll never go away. After all, there are plenty of other threads that touch on Holliday and his demotion / promotion timeline.

I heard it was JeffreyE.

I didn’t see the 2 SB in the 9th inning. I know the one at third was being reviewed and was close.
But overall, we need Adley to throw better. He had a real bad throw on the Witt SB earlier in the game.
I thought the ball got there in plenty of time and that Urias did a bad job with the tag.

I'm perfectly happy with Kremer as our fourth starter. I'm just not a Cole Irvin believer. Having said that, I'll happily be proved wrong.

Luckily, we don't have to play 162 games against the Braves. You get to play the good and the bad. So far, we're 3-1 against the bad (mediocre at best). I'll take that.

Well, he did.
You beat me to it. Elias absolutely said that Holliday needed more work at 2B.

I’m the unelected president of the unofficial Ryan Mountcastle fan club. His hard hit numbers are elite. But I think Sam Basallo is the future at 1B.

Gotta feel good with Rodriguez and We’ll going this weekend.

Amazing Ron Washington is still doing this manager gig. Good for him.
It’s easy, tell him Wash.
It’s incredibly hard.

I’d say that maybe Elias just doesn’t like JM’s profile as a pitcher.
I think it might just come down to this. He doesn’t think Montgomery will continue to be worth the money. And he may be confident that Means and Bradish will be available and capable sooner rather than later.

If they waive him, no other team is going to claim him with a $1 million contract. If he passes through waivers (and he will) and the reassign him to AAA, he won't refuse because he'll lose the $1 million. And, if he replaces guys like Nevin and McKenna, most of the people here didn't want them anyway. This is a giant nothing burger.

Hyde has already stated that he isn't going to start the season with a 12 man pitching staff. And McKenna was told that he isn't making the team.

When the public address announcer introduces Wong as the starting second baseman on opening day, it could get a little ugly.

It may still be JA / PA the cause of this. I read that when Rubinstein has officially own the team that an agreement was that PA will remain controlling partner until he dies, is this true?
No

It’s seems like Mayo has been used as a late inning replacement in ST games with few at bats against legitimate major league pitchers. Holliday seems to have started more games. From that I think Holliday has the better chance to go north for opening day.

I know it’s not popular here, but count me as a big Stowers fan. That bat can play, the power is legit. I still wonder if Stowers could be converted to first base. I see an opportunity long term for him as our everyday first baseman
Basallo sees Stowers walking toward first base and says "hold my beer."
