  1. I was not suggesting the O's acquire him / them. That would mortgage the future exactly as you say. I was expressing my doubt that there's anyone with enough talent to acquire both Ohtani and Trout.
  2. I think the O's would have to part with 3 Top 100 picks to get Ohtani. I doubt that happens, but given how embarrassing trading a generational player would be for Angels ownership, they will want a kings ransom that doesn't necessarily justify a rental, even if its Ohtani.
  3. Is there a team other than the O's that has the quality and depth of prospects to acquire both players? The Yankees certainly don't. Dodgers maybe?
  4. Love the approach that both Ced and Frazier took there. Not trying to hit a home run, just putting the ball in play.
  5. I'm a fan of replay just so we never have to experience a Maier situation ever again. That was devastating.
  6. Yeah, would have been nice to drive Alcantra up to 30 pitches that inning, but Hays gets the benefit of the doubt in my book right now.
  7. I lived in Hunt Valley for years back in the 90s. Now I live in Tampa and I can get walk up tickets for any O's game, so I've been able to get my live O's fix at Trop. Of course the Trop isn't Camden
  8. How surprising has O'hearn been this year? A walk in that situation is so huge. Puts Adley in scoring position and extends the inning.
  9. Jealous! I haven't been back to Camden Yard since 2131 (28 years!). May have to make a trip up from Tampa for a long weekend this year.
  10. Guys at MLB Trade rumors were speculating in today's podcast that Max Scherzer could be available and that Cohen would be willing to eat most or even all of his salary for the right package of prospects. Cohen is apparently working on ways to rebuild some depth in his farm system. Scherzer (Mets retain all his salary) for Norby or Ortiz, Stowers & DL Hall?
  11. Not for Westburg. Yes for Ortiz.
  12. Yeah I think your right. Mullins hits lefties well. Gunnar's .556 OPS is troubling. Hope he gets that up to the point where you don't need to even consider PHing for him.
  13. I don't care what you think. There it is then.
  14. He'll be playing ever time we face a LHP, so he's not pure bench PH fodder. And I think he'll PH for whichever left handed hitter is up (Cowser, Gunnar, Mullins, O'hearn) when we have a high leverage late inning situation and a lefty reliever is brought in.
  15. I think its time to trade Mateo, Frazier or Urias. Preferably all three of them. I think Mounty stays in the minors until that happens.
  16. Good question. I don't know the answer to that. We weren't contending for a division title, but when we traded Mancini last year, he was 3rd in OPS & OBP and leading the team in Avg unless I'm mistaken.
  17. I didn't say trade them for any old part time pitcher. That's idiotic. You just added that in for no reason. Let me clarify - if you can trade Urias + Hayes or Santander as part of a package for a true TOR starter from Miami, then I think you do that.
  18. Miami is a playoff team, but I think they will look to improve just like the O's are a playoff team and we're looking to improve. Whether its Hays or Santander or Kjerstad or Cowser - the O's have some surplus at the corner OF spots and I'd like to see them use it now instead of next year because I think we're a legit contender for a division title / WS today if we plug some of our most obvious holes (pitching).
