  1. The Astros have ticked off a lot of folks with how they have engineered the rebuild. They have upset folks with how they have handled the draft, with how they have dealt with free agents and how they have approached player development.

You also have "old school" folks that think the Astros have gone too far on the analytics side.

And of course Weams doesn't like them.

There are a lot more people hoping they fail than succeed.

  2. Keuchel and McHugh are both just really good pitchers. Keuchel had a 3.21FIP last year, 2.89 this year and McHugh had a 3.11FIP last year and 1.81 this year. I can't wait until they bring up the Correa who is far and away the best prospect in baseball.

I saw that Moran suffered some kind of injury. Not sure how long he will be out or how close he was.

It is crazy how both emerged. McHugh never had any real stand out seasons in the minors with the Mets. Didn't realize Keuchal came up with the Astros.

  3. Rangers lead the majors with DFAs from what I read earlier today, something like 38 going back several years, Orioles had 22 and a couple of the teams like the Cards only had 6.

Yeah I saw that MLBTR article. Going back to August 2013 when they first started keeping track. Dodgers are doing their best to catch up.

Michael Kay (YES) stated that Balfour was release by the Rays today.

After Balfour was DFA'd, 10 days passed, and not one of the other 29 major league teams wanted him.

And the Rays don't want him playing for their AAA-Durham Bulls, either.

In doing so, the D-Rays have eaten $7 Million.

I remember reading that Balfour doesn't want to play for a minor league team this year.

  5. In both cases (Givens and Drake) we are talking about < 10 IP. I'd like to see a longer period of success before trying anything.

By the way, I saw that some 29-year old Navy grad was promoted to the majors a couple of days ago. Wouldn't he have been a teammate of Drake's? That's a heckuva pitching staff the Naval Academy had there.

    Mitch Harris of the Cardinals.

  6. Your complaint should be with Google not the Orioles. No company wants their emails to show up in a secondary tab, it is a Google algorithm that determines it.

I'm surprised your Opening Day emails went to the promotional tab, mine went to the primary tab. Although I remember the playoff ticket info last year went to the promotional tab, so I may have set it up so emails from the ticket office go to my primary tab.

Using the phone app keeps them all together. It confuses me the rare times I use the computer and I see the tabs. Prefer my iPhone email app that keeps it all together.

  7. Cena referenced last night that he is out there busting his ass every night while the "so called Champion is sitting on this couch."

The IC title and US title were just defended at the PPV. in fact, all the titles except Brock were defended at the PPV.

There are rumors of a Sheamus vs Rusev feud over the US title, and with Rusev's push right now, that will definitely elevate that title.

I think for the first time in a while, the titles DO have some significance.

Just because the IC and US titles are defended doesn't mean they have significance. Hell, they added the IC match two days before the PPV. Not much build for that. And you have the same 5 guys moving between the two titles. You have the champions usually losing non title matches with last night Ziggler beating Kane as the exception.
