They’re throwing Kikuchi tonight, right? That guy is softer than puppy **** and we tagged him last year. If it were some dominant lefty, I’d understand. But we’ll see.
-
If Gunnar is going to be a superstar, he’s gonna have to hit lefties, too.

I hate this. Henderson is heating up and he’s out. I don’t care if Jesus Christ himself is on the mound. This is dumb.

One more thing. CITO SUCKS.

Ben Verlander: Os on cusp of dynasty…if they buy in
Moose Milligan replied to Sports Guy's topic in Orioles Talk
I guess this colors me as an anti-Angelos person, but when I hear him say something like "But you gotta go with the system you're in," that just sounds like excuse making. In other words "Hey, you gotta understand the financial restraints that we're working with here." That's how I read it and I don't think I'm alone here. So overall, you're correct in that everything he said is ambiguous to really pin down exactly what he meant, but with the way they've operated over the years it's easy to make that interpretation. -

Ben Verlander is kind of a putz. -
Ortiz looks like the right man for the job right now.

Bro, it's such a small sample size, it doesn't matter. As much crap as the Frazier signing got on here, people on this message board are educated enough to know that a small sample size doesn't mean anything....both when a player is on a heater and when they're cold. -
No, to @Can_of_corn's point, he's there to serve his players. Per the Schoop anecdote, he got what he wanted, which is a multi-year deal from the Tigers. Schoop wasn't out there trying to get the most dollars. Boras isn't the boss in the relationship between him and the player, that's lazy thinking and it's wrong. And any company that big has their own logo, that's nothing new. If you're here to cry about how much people make, that sounds like you've got a problem with other people making money.

It's not even that. I mean, his game isn't as advertised as Babe Ruth. He's got an elite-level (GOLD GLOVE CALIBER) glove. He looks like he's got a little pop, too. I've been pleased with what I've seen from him. I'm not expecting, like, prime A-Rod here...partially because he's not been advertised as such. Saying he's played poorly is absurd. -
These are some of the scorchiest hot takes I've seen on here in awhile. I'm not a Boras apologist, but to think that every other agent NOT named Scott Boras isn't out to get the maximum value for their client is silly. To think that a player that doesn't go with Boras as his agent doesn't care about money is also absurd. Boras has been an agent since the early 80s, he's been an agent almost as long as free agency has been a thing, which gives him a significant leg up on any of his competitors. There's a value to being first to market and since he's been doing this longer than anyone else out there it has been beneficial to asserting himself as one of the faces of sports agents. He's also not afraid to ruffle feathers or speak to the media, which some don't appreciate. Like every other agent, he exists to get the best possible value for his players and to look out for their best interests. It's obvious that he does this exceptionally well, his agency is one of the most valuable in the world. I'm not sure why this makes him a bad person. Like I said, every agent out there is out to get the most dollars and the best deal he can for his client.

Think we can get this to 10 pages?

Would be stoked with 2/3, too.

True, we’ve lit him up before.

Big series this weekend. Both teams are 6-4 over their last 10, but the Jays are scheduled to play the Yankees tonight. We're currently 2.5 up on the Jays for 2nd place in the East, but that could change by tomorrow. Gibson vs. Kikuchi (3.89) Rodriguez vs. Manoah (5.40) Kremer vs. Gausman (3.27) I'm not sure what in the name of Rance Mulliniks is going on with Manoah this year, but here's hoping we can tattoo him. I don't think Kikuchi is as good as his ERA indicates, his FIP is 5.46.
